Ugh, question about XMB |
|
I highly hate the fact that I can't select an offline button, or not display what game I'm playing.
Because I for one do not like people knowing my business 24/7 or have someone call me and say "I see you got little big planet" and shit. I like my Privacy. Now if there is such a feature, excuse me please. While I love the PS3 to the brink of fanboyism, I find the cryptic way on finding things in the XMB highly disturbing. Took me a month to find features that was I searching for were in accessory settings, or when I want to use a feature I can not locate. Like the Viberation functions or other settings. I didn't even know how to delete all the messages, or automatic sign in for the account until my friend showed me. So now whenever I see an option I always press triangle etc. to see if I'm missing out on something. Another thing that has me baffled, is that out of 74 GBs I only have 48GBs left. At the time I had MGS4 and GTA4 (combined are less than 10GBs), MGS1 (.8gbs, or 800 MBs), and a few small themes that are nothing. What's taking up so much damn space? So, is there a way not to display what I'm playing? Can I see all the things that take up space on my harddrive? And is there a guide or breakdown on how to find certain features? ------------------- ![]() Nothing is true, Everything is permitted ![]()

The only way I can think of to stop people seeing what you're playing is to simply log off. But, obviously that's not helpful if you want to play online. PS3 needs an 'appear offline' feature like Xbox.
If you have music or films they can add up and eat quite a bit of space. So can loads of saves to a lesser extent and also pictures. For the 3rd question. You could read the online manual.

No videos or music, and I only have one save pergame that I have, besides MGS4 which has too (each being about 700KB, aka .7MB) so it's nothing.

The install files for games take up some space. Also the OS takes up space. Usually though it should only be 5GB.
As for the log in thing, if you can click triangle on your name and choose "away" Or something like that, forgot what it was. But it pretty much says leave me alone right now. -------------------

Even if you are offline, people who have you added can see what trophies you have, so that is a dead giveaway as to what games you have anyway
