I forget, but I think you have to walk around some rooms, and an imperial officer and storm trooper will ambush you from the bottom floor, and try to blitz you. Kill the officer, and walk over him to grab a keything to open the door or something.

Let me think, I played that level not too long ago, and I remember it gave me similar trouble. Yunno that path leading to the room on the Ion Cannon track? I beleive there are At-St walkers inside that room. Anyhow, I think you turn off the sheilds on the cannons from inside this huge room, then you go out and blow up some cannons. I think you have to go back into the room, and Storm Troopers should come out of the locked door on the top level of the room. Either that, or you forgot to pick up a supply key off the dead yellow imperial officers.
PS- To the other guy, there are a million and one commands for multiplayer mode. They are so many so moderators of created games can specifically set gravity, damage, etc, etc, etc. I don't know all the commands, but in order to get god mode to work, you have to start a game, and then enter... devmap ffa_ns_streets ffa means free for all for the game type, and ns streets is the level. I dont know all the level names, but they tell you them when you start a game on a level, where it says loading player models, skins, etc, it should have the level name.bsp that would be what you enter. After entering the command, the game will restart on whatever level you used. (I always use NS_Streets) You can then go to the command menu and enter 'god' like usual. I don't know if this is in the normal game, but using jedimod, I was able to use the command Set_mod_grapple 2, to shoot grappling hooks all over the place and climb walls like spider man. Look at the text files that come with your mods to see if there are new commands in there. ------------------- ![]()

re: General Q&A |

Skins are tough, if you don't have basic art knowhow.
You'll need a tga and/or jpeg/jpg editing art program. Most commonly used is Adobe Photoshop. To make the skin, I'm not sure, but to edit an existing skin, you'll need to rename the whatever.pk3 file to whatever.zip and extract the folder that reads.. model/players/whateverthemodelnameis To the desktop. Then open the folder, and it's best to view the files in the fodler as thumnails. Now to really know what skin to work on, you may have to open the default.skin files and see what skin is linked to which model variant (red, blue, default). Then open the skinfiles that one of the model variants are linked to, best to start with opening all the default model skins. Once open, edit away with the photoshop tools. If the file is a jpeg/jpg, make sure when you save it, you save it as the same quality it was earlier, or you may end up with a corrupted file. This isn't really an easy thing to explain either way. Though I found it out the hard way, by meddling with the files like a mad scientist. I suggest making a backup pk3 just in case you dont want to ruin anything while doing your testing. ------------------- ![]()

People come here (like one person), every 4 months or so.
Old game, no crowd. However, to make a map is something NOT easy at all. It's VERY hard, you need to be skilled with a 3d modelling program, and need to know how to skin the entire map so the textures appear in the right places, let alone you must make all the textures. It's easier to assemble a group to do this, like 4 or 5 people that have experience in different required feilds. Let's see. I guess you can use any number of 3d programs, from 3dsmax, and possible milkshape 3d. I think i've heard of a JKII specific program. In any case, i've never made a map, i don't know how, won't ever try. I just do re-skins, and am pretty damn good at it. However, this question is answered in any number of faqs on the net. Try JKIIfiles.com search for a faq page, and in there, look for your question. They should recommend a program and give a basic faq for adept modellers to use. ------------------- ![]()

For single player, i just type the cheat (god, noclip) and the next line in the console says "God mode on" etc. In multi player, i have to type /god or /noclip to make them work, otherwise it sends a chat message saying "god".
I cant see what the problem is anyway but if this helps, great!

re: General Q&A |

I have actually had a read through this thread and can now answer some more questions (however i do play JA more now so I'll try not to get confused). 1st To make a map is fairly difficult, you need the right program with the right brain to use it. I think that JK2 Radient is a really good program to use. I have got up to the stage when you try to extract it to the game, but it doesn't actually come up in game so any help for my is appreciated. 2nd No one has asked this but i will just say it anyway, if you want to type in bold, Italics or a colour, when you press bold and it comes up , you need to type in between the 1st ] and 2nd [. I will try to check this forum more often so keep posting

Okay, who thinks JK2 is better than JK3 and why?
Me: I think JK2 has a better saber combat system. It's not as iffy when you slash in directions, and is more controlled, and each stance has more balanced attack speeds and damage counts. JK3 seems a bit screwy. With a single saber fast stance, sometimes you can kill an enemy with a single hit, other times the move you wanted to do will come out differently, and all attack stances with a single saber don't seem to be fast at all, they are all pretty much slow. I guess Raven thought it was too hard for us? Also, playing as a single saber user gets really effin' tough later in the game, fighting multiple cultists using the double and dual saber at the same time, makes you have to rely on speed, heal, and force lightning, and often has you retreating. While it is possible, with LOTS AND LOTS of practice, to beat such enemies in a group, it's really annoying. I wouldn't mind one or two enemies a level with a dual or double saber, but sometimes over half the cultists that appear have them, it's crazy! Single saber shoulda got mo' respect. Also, the story for the third one (academy) was kinda quickly tossed together. I expected a bit more training from the masters and such, as well as a more thought out story instead of goofy tavion and that goofy skeletor ghost. Woulda made Vader go crazy had he been real. I didn't mind the short levels, as in most cases, a jedi wouldn't take lightyears on a single stage. I just wish there was twice as many of them, or an expansion pack or something. Also, most saber handles were a bit too wide, and the sabers themselves were too thick. Though i do like the new trail system on the blades, except for when doing a kata...it's over exaggerated there (though at first i liked it). Still cool, but a needless add on to star wars fans. Also wish there could have been more head parts, clothing parts to use with the create-a-jedi thing. I'm glad there are modders out there that put together great hiltpacks though. Now if I can only find some more head/species and clothes add ons...(anybody know any?) ------------------- ![]()
