Well, this is what i did to get good relationships. I ALWAYS go into the town every day and go in every shop. Click talk and after a long time, they might say something different. This means tey like you more! Also, attend festivals and talk to everyone. It doesn't say much about friends in the booklet anyway, you're not missing out!

I live in England and also go to 'game' stores. Unfortunatly, this game is quite old now and is not made anymore so I got my game from a 2nd hand game store 'gamestation'

how lond does it take to actually make someone say something different in the shops?i'm playing harvest moon 2 right now and i'm in he floer shop.i've been at it 5 mins and i'm bored. at least time stays still in shops!

It only affects your friendship if you talk to them once a day so every time after that doesn't count.
It should take maybe over a season in a row just to get one person to say something different. You have to talk to them once EVERY day though  ------------------- | |
