CryEngine 2 Vs. DUNIA Engine

both extremely impressive engines....
I personally think DUNIA is a lil' better the CRYEngine 2, because of the dynamic weather system, propagation of fire and fully destructible environment, (not just palm tress and buildings), anyways state your opinion on these game engines.......

Far Cry 2...

And in this DUNIA is the better engine just for how well it copes with such a vast open world map, Far Cry 2 looks better than Crysis and Far Cry 2 is 60 times larger and nowhere near as linear...

I forgot we all have advanced copies of Far Cry 2...

The games not even out yet, and isn't there only around 3 or 4 videos of the actual game?
I have faith in Far Cry 2, I just think its a bit to early to judge and compare. Its even harder to compare the games engine which we have pretty much no knowledge of at the moment and don't know how well optimized it is\can be.

Well once the game comes out, it never looks quit as good as it did in the trailers.

re: CryEngine 2 Vs. DUNIA Engine

They remind me alot of the Crysis Trailers. Of course the game looks beautiful, and they show it running at fantastic speeds and on good settings.
But like Crysis, we have no idea how its going to run. Everyone had alot higher expectations of how Crysis was going to run *COUGH* and they weren't even close.

-The grass looks funky in Video2 and the explosions are no where near on par with Crysis.

re: CryEngine 2 Vs. DUNIA Engine

You have some good points, but i still think that this will be 10 times more fun of a game then crysis, and have a lot more playability. 50 Squares kilometers to explore and do whatever you want, plus i like then AI in far cry way better, how their so aggressive and chase after you. I guess will shall find out what is like when it comes out.

re: CryEngine 2 Vs. DUNIA Engine

I never played Far Cry but I really like Crysis. The single player is fun but the AI isn't the best I've seen. It's not bad but it doesn't improve with difficulties as do other games. I think Crysis' multiplayer is very fun but lack of patches and content updates are holding it back. Crytek really needs to fix glitches with the DX9, I play on DX10 but my clan uses a DX9 server. The DX10 servers are much better, glitch-wise. I was disappointed with Crysis single player when I found out you couldn't destroy "everything" like Crytek made it out like you could. Palm trees, rickety shacks, barrels, and vehicles don't qualify as "everything" for me. I was hoping it would be like Battlefield Bad Company is supposed to be where you can actually destroy walls for 'real' buildings, not shacks.

re: CryEngine 2 Vs. DUNIA Engine

look guys, dont bash the cryengine 2 if you dont know how to use it, if you dont know, the cryengine is fully customizable, anything you can think of you can do. for the weather system, it can be made in the cryengine through flowgraphs and be able to change on command. the cryengine is much more powerful than the dunia engine. if you know how to use both engines, you will realize that the dunia engine doesn't even compare to the cryengine 2

cryengine is far better. You can make a game exactly like FarCry 2 with the cryengine but with better graphics and effects. On cry mod theres a mod for propaganda fire and its supposed to be better than far cry 2!

re: CryEngine 2 Vs. DUNIA Engine

Crysis Warhead is actually a bugfix of Crysis, you can try put the mod file into the same location, it works exactly the same, also the version number shows you "few changes" but mostly bugfixes.

My 9800GTS works excellent when playing FarCry2, but Crysis Warhead still sluggish, the story is Crysis better but the gameplay still have a lot can improve.

FarCry2 seems a bit realistic, and the world setting really very good, vehicles and peoples act just like real.

Dunia engine really good, it can a few bugs though (A man stuck into the rock and shot me, I need to use grenade to kill him, and some of the objects was in wrong position, such as a petro can on a transparent wooden box).

CryEngine have those bugs EVERYWHERE!!

re: CryEngine 2 Vs. DUNIA Engine

CryEngine 2 is by far the best, dunia is only a pale reflexion of cryengine 1, it is at least, a really good and capable engine of course and farcry2 really is an great game, but... do not put "game feature" and "engine capability" in the same box. Ubisoft had done great work with farcry2 and the game is, I think, better than crisis. But CryEngine 2 as greater capability and with an skilled game developper it can achieve potentially the best game in every category.
CryEngine 3 is by far the best on the market right now, but that's dosen't mean great game cannot be made with lesser game engine.
