I have QuarkXpress 6.0 for Windows. I have a project whereby I have a Russian language translation in Microsoft Word that I want to paste into Quark. I translated American English into Russian through the Google translator. I then pasted the Google translation text into Word. Everything appeared okay in Word. I then select the text in Word, copy it and then paste it into a text box in Quark, then I select the Russian Cyrillic type font in Quark to style the type. The text does not show up as the Russian font. It appears as a series of question marks. I have the Russian font installed in my computer. Now, if in Quark, I just type into a text box and select the Russian font, it works. The text (though not translated into Russian) appears with the Russian font and looks correct as to the appearance of the font.

My problem is that I need to take the Russian text from Word and import it, or paste it into QuarkXpress 6.0 and have it look right and of course read as Russian.

Does anybody have any clues as to why I can't do that? Or is there a work-around to the problem. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.
