re: pictwpstops - got an error disposing of document

For future reference, folks, please read this announcement. This is a games forum, and is, unfortunately, not for the software "Quark".

We can't help you here, but professionals in the software can help you there.

re: pictwpstops - got an error disposing of document

After reading every ones suggestions ( not knowing how to change the font) I went back into the print menu. I clicked on advanced Once in it gave me only one option, to print as an image. I checked that box and the form printed out beautifully and faster I might add.

Hope this is an easy fix for everyone.

re: pictwpstops - got an error disposing of document

I've got the same error... but found out something else.

I moved the folder where my font were to the Desktop and reimported it in Suitcase. Tried again to print and it worked !!!

I tried to verify the disk for errors and got a Catalog-B Three error (wich Disk Repair can't fix )... so maybe the font files are damaged or something is wrong when Quark tries to load the fonts from that part of the disk...

So maybe checking your disk for errors and fixing them or moving your font files to somewhere else on your disk might do something...

re: pictwpstops - got an error disposing of document

I've got the same problem - but using indesign. Recently converted to os x 10.4, connecting a dell 1710n (network) printer (worked fine in 10.3). Seem to be having the error when printing via the ethernet connection but no trouble through the USB. Could this instead be some sort of network configuration problem or printer installed fonts conflicting with system fonts??? (I'm using FontBook by the way) I still need to spend more time to try and configure the ethernet connection correctly - although I don't really need network printing.
Is anyone else using a network printer?

re: pictwpstops - Desktop printer works instead!

I have read these commentaries how many times now and they still don't make sense to me. Even by re:installing Acrobat 8, I did not find any relief from the pictwpstops errors.

My computer is a Macintosh G5 (OSX). I did create a desktop printer from my printer (HP PSC 1610) and was able to print my Adobe Acrobat document without any problems. As for you people who don't know how to use a desktop printer, just grab your document and drop it ontop of the desktop printer icon and your document should begin printing right away. This solved all my problems!

I hope this help the future generations coming back to this thread.

re: pictwpstops - got an error disposing of document

Try reseting the permissions on the 'cups' (Common Unix Print System) using Terminal. You must be logged in as Administrator inorder to do this.

Follow the directions found at the link below. Even though this article concerns another issue, following these command line instructions (Terminal) has resolved the pictwpstops issue on 2 Mac OS X 10.4.9 systems.

Cheers!

I had the same problem. I have a MacBook Pro on 10.4.10 and installed a Gutenprint driver for my HP Laser Jet 2100 series printer, and that solved the problem.

re: pictwpstops - got an error disposing of document

About a month ago, my printer stopped being able to print Acrobat .pdf documents. I would get an error about “unexpected pictwpstops - can not print”

I looked up this problem on the boards, and found many many people were having the same problem. I tried all the suggestions, like looking for the latest printer driver, reloading printer software, and even used the utility suggested, "print center repair". Nothing worked. Someone suggested it had something to do with Panther.

It occurred to me that perhaps it had something to do with the recent update of Acrobat Professional.

So, I opened pdfPen, (a very cool Mac pdf tool I just happened to have) and it printed all of my .pdf files that I needed to print out. Of course, this won’t help the Windows people, but maybe there is something out there that can.

The pdfPen software can be found at http://www.smileonmymac.com/PDFpen/index.html. Download the trial version to make sure it works for you.

re: pictwpstops - got an error disposing of document

Developed this problem after downloading Adobe Reader Nine and attempting to print a .pdf file. Anyone ever had the pictwpstops printing problem with AR 8 installed?

Too much of a novice with fonts to attempt everything suggested.

No problem printing other kinds of files.

re: pictwpstops - got an error disposing of document

Here's a quick fix if your for getting you document printed. . .
Create a pdf in Acrobat, then open that pdf in Preview and save it as a pdf. You'll notice the icon will change from the red icon and will look different.
It will now print.
