Dude the second that happened and you were in the ocean the sheer pressure would kill you instantly. Not to mention the sheer mass of water that would crash down on you would do the same. No time to drown.

the big daddies werent around till the breakdown in the first place when the war between Ryan Industries and Fontaine Futuristics broke out, so basically, life down there without fontaine. There wouldnt be plasmids, little sisters and big daddies unless Fontaine were around. All the problems began with him and the the downward spiral that happened afterwards.

the problem for me would be claustrophobia, so even if the city was in its prime and everything was all hunky dory i still wouldnt want to live there.

Yeah, it would be so cool you could go to fort frolic to see plays, and got to arcadia. I would live in Mercury suites, and wouldn't use the plasmids because I know how the game ends...

The only thing that i see as a potential downfall would be all the kids that would be born down there (if it wasnt destroyed and made it to the current times) with all the ADD and other stuff, would be ten times worse. Think of it you have a kid with pyromania, normally "up here" they would have to get their hands on matches and fule and so on and so forth. With the plasmids and the possibility that you might be able to pass them down to your children, if you kid is born with the ability to use the Incenerate ability then they would have to deal with a whol new "can o'worms".

good point. it all comes down to how humanity would cope with that power. humans are a species that by nature destroy themselves and having the power to do supernatural things would cause problems. would people use it responsibly or would it go to their heads and end with them doing what the splicers do, killing, destroying, and generally causing the downfall of civilisation.
