I always have that tonic equipped and I've never had this glitch.

I am having the same bug, its driving me insane.

I've also got this bug, doesn't seem to be anyway of getting it. I've restart the stage, and there is still nothing in the safe. The hint is still coming up which says look in the safe and its well nothing there. No way i'm starting the whole game again.

Anyone found a solution yet

Ive just litrally minimized the game myself due to the same problem....its simple...ive done this mission before and not had this problem...the diffrence this time is i picked up the safecracker tonic that i didnt find before..or maybe not in the same sequence...i will now go back to the begining of the level and make sure i find it but dont apply it until i have passed that area...ill let u know if that works...

ive not got the scavenger tonic equiped an its done it so rule that one out people

I have tried both with tonic and without and quite a few other ways to try to find way around it with no success. If anyone has a saved file after the safe plz send me!

I've reloaded twice. Tried with and without scrounger. Tried searching her body before and not searching her body before. Every time I reload and try a new combination I still get nothing from the safe.

I HAVE FOUND A 100% WORKING SOLUTION!


After reading countless of solutions like tonics, not searching the bodies and searching the safe in the first place (none of them worked for anyone i guess...) i found my own way to fix this bug. Its not really a fix, but a detour.

When you enter the room that looks like an open area with trees and in which there is an event that some gas purs from the ceiling and the door at the right close (btw, the door that closes is the door with capsule that takes you to another level) you teleport behind the door before it closes, get on the capsule and go to another level, you will miss some of the items, but will know the story from the glitched level more or less, the safe bug was at the end i suppose, if not i will read some walktrough to see what happened after the safe glitch but that is not important now, if you want to play the next levels of the game you better read along:P now, you probably ask yourself how do you teleport? Just search bioshock cheat codes for Teleport to Pointer - teleport, the cheat codes are so simple that its just unbelivable. I turned on god mode and teleport. For lazy people, open defuser.ini from the release directory and at the top of the file you have default user settings, just find the F's shortcuts and on your preffered free one type "teleport" for example F10=teleport

PS: TURN OFF ALL THE CHEATS AFTER YOU GET PASS THE GLITCHED LEVEL! you will spoil a great game.

Just so you guys know....I haven't found this "scrounger" tonic, and I get the same problem...Nothing in the safe.

This is correct. Do this and you can at least keep playing the game..
