How do you play P3? Social Links Wise? |
|
I was just curious about how everyone played the game on their first time through since I recently discovered the mechanics to the game (Fusions, S.Links). When you first played did you just improve S.Links with people you liked, or did you think about from a technical point of view?
Since I found out about the actual system for the game, I've been really confused. It makes me feel less like actually playing. Should I worry about the game system at all? This message was edited by hitenshi on Jul 08 2008.

You can do what you want, but I chose to go for a technical point of view. I started with links that I know would improve my Persona making ability at low levels, then moved to the more complicated ranks when I knew my levels could handle it.

I did people I liked. On your first time through I'd suggest just hammering through until your Bravery, Courage, Academics are maxed. If you're playing the original you can then convert this data into a FES file and getting Max S. Links will be a lot easier. If you're playing FES already, just power through as quickly as you can, max out Bravery, COurage, and Academics, and try to do as many Fusion Spells as possible. Then worry about Max S. Links on your second play through.
As far as first play through, the one's I found most useful were Tower, Preistess, and Devil just because of how easy it is to level, I really didn't use any Devil Personas. But in Tower, Eligor, Cu Chulain, and Shiva were all my mains at some point. Magician, Chariot, Emperor, Fortune, and Empress will also be useful for Surt, Thor, Odin, Norn, and Skadi. ------------------- ![]() TRISTAN ASHE

Devil has Beelzebub, which is a powerhouse.

How do you set up your Beelzebub Elimist?? I'm trying to get these on it:
1. MAGARUDYNE 2. PANTA RHEI 3. WIND AMP 4. HIGH COUNTER 5. MAKARAKAN 6. VICTORY CRY 7. MAZIODYNE 8. PRIMAL FORCE Just because I don't have a really good wind Persona yet. Panta Rhei and Wind Amp would be all I would need to fuse on and Maziodyne and Primal Force are only on because he naturally learns them. If I could get Wind Boost or an all hitting attack spell on I'd prefer either. ------------------- ![]() TRISTAN ASHE

I don't remember, TBH. The game got so easy after a while that I had all these upper-level characters with whatever skills and all I had to do to win was use Lucifer and/or Satan aka Helial.

I'm still on my first play though. Like BrokenKnights said I'm focusing on my academics a lot. After school everyday I would go to the shrine and put 1,000 yen in the offering box in hopes to improve my academics. Then I'd talk to Maiko the girl at the shrine and when it got late I'd go back the dorm and study to further improve my academic stats. The Hanged Man Arcana was my first maxed S.Link. I know after I make my offering at the shrine I can go back to the school library to study but I wanted to build the S.Link.

A good trick to levelling up your personal stats is to hit the mall every night. If the trivia game is available, play it. Otherwise use the karaoke bar for courage or the cafe for charm. When you return to the dorm, study if you are healthy or rest if you are sick.

I am going through an not using any guides, or spoiling any of the story for myself and have just finished the first full-moon phase and I have been focusing on the characters that I like. Because it's near mid-terms I have been hanging out with the little girl a lot after school, because there isn't really anything else to do (Except the book store people, and the girl's story seems more interesting). She also introduced me to another character that I can potentially Social Link with on a Sunday. ;D

Even if he's present, a Flag will stop you from activating it until a certain member joins you. Max social link runs make me wish Evokers had real gun capabilities. ![]() -------------------

Just started playing this game about a week ago. Just finished the First Full Moon phase (the Sorceress boss).
I'm trying to get my status to be as best as possible. So far, I managed to get my Academic and my Charm up to the 2nd notch, but my Courage needs to work. Between singing the crap out at the karaoke and eating at the Burger place, I prefer the burger place (less expensive) to boost my Courage. A friend of mine stated that if ya do stuff when the character is in Great status, it will be double the points we get. Didn't know if this is true or not. So far, only way I could get Great is by going to the toilet (in Good status). Sometimes, it won't work.

2: The more expensive ones seem to raise it by more, Movies raise it really nicely IIRC. 3: Great bonus only happens with Academics, praying at the offering box at Naganaki Shrine only. ![]() -------------------

I think I am going to end up maxing Kenji first - he's at Level 8 at the moment. ;D

I'm taking time between the girl in the shrine, the old couple and Kenji. All three have passed level 6 now, and I'm waiting for the third full moon while leveling up my men.
I have noticed that in this game, having better weapons makes a different between yer character being useful or useless.
