What happens when you pick a cursed card?

The reaper comes and chases you. You have to either get to the stairs or to the portal or else it will catch up with you and fight you. You cannot beat it. It is death. You will die. Game over.

So that's why he appeared, I swear my gut went hollow when Fuuka said "I sense death".

hahaha, yeah dude that some scary stuff. All the enemies disappear and then the chains started rattling. My gut went hollow too.

Don't be, whenever the reaper comes after me (I'm bad at picking cards) I start yelling "C'mon, where are the *bleep*ing stairs!?"

The other day I got a phone call just as I entered a new level, so I put it on pause. Somehow, when I came back and unpaused my whole team was dead and it was my turn to attack The Reaper. I guess he appeared and got us just as the phone rang and before I paused. It was pretty freaky though.

OMG, when you say "pause", you mean pressing triangle and going to the menu? If that's so, how on EARTH that could have happened? I mean, I think the entire game is paused when you press triangle...explain more this, if you would

Sorry, I totally made a mistake here. I am playing on a PS3 and I thought that pressing the "playstation" button pauses the game because it puts you into a menu asking if you'd like to quit the game, restart the system, etc. However, the game actually keeps running in the background, the sound just gets cut off, and you can no longer see the screen because of the menu of options. I figured this out when the same thing happened again. I feel stupid, but oh well, better that I learn now rather than at some really crucial moment.

Oh now I understand o/, but I must admit that I know NOTHING 'bout PS3, so...I only know that i'll not be buying it in the next couple of years

i can defeat reaper with level 52 it was because of luck though

It's possible to defeat the Reaper. In fact, it's one of Elizabeth's requests. It's just really, REALLY freaking hard to XP

I choose that card once, and Fuuka said "I sense Death". I thought it was like a cursed status which gonna go away. Good thing I went up the stairs without thinking or I could have been killed.

A friend of mine tried to fight it, and died in vain. I guess he was overconfident in his own skills.

It's possible to defeat the Reaper. In fact, it's one of Elizabeth's requests. It's just really, REALLY freaking hard to XP

You can one shot him. You just need a particular persona fusion skill that chews up all your SP and does 9999 damage. Armageddon?

I don't think death appears immediately, I think it just drops the countdown until he appears by a lot. I'm sure on some small levels I've checked everywhere after getting a cursed card and he wasn't anywhere.
