	The reaper comes and chases you. You have to either get to the stairs or to the portal or else it will catch up with you and fight you. You cannot beat it. It is death. You will die. 	I've had the Reaper chase me twice. First time, it didn't catch me. Second time, it caught me, but I used the skill that allows escape from most battles. Luckily, it worked. ;P -------------------

	You guys should just keep a Traesto gem on hand. The other day I got a phone call just as I entered a new level, so I put it on pause. Somehow, when I came back and unpaused my whole team was dead and it was my turn to attack The Reaper. I guess he appeared and got us just as the phone rang and before I paused. It was pretty freaky though.

I mean, I think the entire game is paused when you press triangle...explain more this, if you would

I am playing on a PS3 and I thought that pressing the "playstation" button pauses the game because it puts you into a menu asking if you'd like to quit the game, restart the system, etc. However, the game actually keeps running in the background, the sound just gets cut off, and you can no longer see the screen because of the menu of options. I figured this out when the same thing happened again. I feel stupid, but oh well, better that I learn now rather than at some really crucial moment.
