i have the wood heart but who do i give it to? I also need wisdom and courage gems where are good places to look for those? theres also a head that creates a light beam when i hit what direction do i point it? and finally theres a little island thing in the top right corner of mercay island how do i get to it?

Wood heart:

Go to Bannan Island, you'll find that the wayfarer isn't there. Go to the southeast sea chart (3rd Sea Chart), there will be 2 travellers ships, one of them is the wayfarers. Talk to him and give him the wood heart. When you are about to leave, he will call you back and tell you there is a chest back on Bannan Island. So go back there, however when you reach there the one eyed plant monster will block you're way again. Kill it and get the treasure chest which is the Swordsman Scroll, granting you the ability to perform the Great Spin Attack! Have fun!

Spirit Gems:

I don't remember where all of them are, there is a list on the walkthrough section of this website.

Mercay Island:

Draw a line on the map between the Temple Of The Ocean King and the Milk Bar. Point the beam from the head so that it is parallel with that line, it should be pointing roughly northwest. Follow the beam, and where it points to the cliff, throw a bomb. Enter the cave and follow it (there is a switch you can hit with your boomerang to the south of the long bridge which makes a chest appear). At the other end you will be on the little island. Explore!
