Kratos' Powers |
|
Confirmed New Powers:
Swinging Ceiling Climb There are bound to be new powers that Kratos can use in this game. I searched the web and found this. It seems that you can fly in this game. If I remember correctly there was a trailer that you get after you beat the first game that showed Kratos flying, maybe that was SCEA working on it for this game. In the first GOW, Kratos was originally going to have the Wings of Iccarus, but was eventually removed. And as you can see in the link, he will have them in this one. I'm curious what the Golden Fleece will do. If I remember right, in Medea, anyone who touched the fleece would die (can't remember how, but it was painful; incinerated I think). But as for powers I want, I wouldn't mind having gifts bestowed upon by Thanatos (personification of Death). But you can almost bet on gaining a power from Nemesis. Here's a description of him I dug up--"The spirit of Divine Retribution against those who succumb to hubris, vengeful fate personified as a remorseless Goddess."
Also, powers from imprisoned Titans in Tartarus would be welcome as well. -------------------

The way the game is sounding it seems that he will not have his powers since:
quoteI hope I am incorrect and he is still able to use his previous powers. I think out of the powers from the last game I would miss the Army of Hades and Poseidon's Rage the most. As for new powers instead of Rage of the Gods like, he had in the first GOW he could grow for a short period of time. ------------------- ![]()

If he has the wings, then in theory he should still be able to fly regardless of his other god powers. That could make up for their loss somewhat.

Why is it saying stuff about Pegasus' Wings and robbing Iccarus of his wings? Why do we need two pairs of wings? The Wings of Iccarus were the ones that were supposed to be in the first GOW. I would like to know if he will be getting both or what, because two pairs of wings sound a little...useless. If we get both, one must have a superiority over the other or something.

Let me clear it up. He will be robbing Icarus of his wings. He will not be using Pegasus' wings but he will be riding on Pegasus at one or more points of the game.

...or maybe they both have advantages and disadvantages and the gamer has to choose which will be best for the situation? Still, I can't see much flying involved so two pairs does seem unneccesary; maybe one is purely for collection purposes or something along those lines.

Yeah. Maybe the Wings of Iccarus could be something you can use whenever you want, while Pegasus can only be used when either you are allowed to or in only one portion of the game.

I found a pic of him climbing a ceiling(don't know what to call it):
Here I can't remember if he did it in the first, so I thought I would put it here just in case. This message was edited by Master Zhang He on Mar 26 2006. ------------------- ![]()

Maybe the Icarus wings can only be used for a certain period of time (maybe the heat from his body while using them makes the wax melt
Looking at the video in the game, he does land a few times, but that may of been accidental or to prove that you can seemlesssly switch from flying to landing to blur the edges on flying levels and fighting levels. And ceiling climbings a bit old hat really, not one thats too unexpected, i saw it in Mario years back ------------------- These are hard times for innocent bystanders

quote webbyYeah. Having the ability to fly around, without the worry of running out of "flying power", would make the puzzles very easy (the ones that require the use of Iccarus' Wings). It will probably run off of your magic meter. So when that thing is finished, so are you. But Pegasus sounds like something that can fly non-stop, but only outside. And looking at the screenshots, which seems to depict a temple in the middle of the ocean, Pegasus looks like he'll come in real handy. -------------------

Maybe one of them is just a gliding feature?
I remember the double-jump was called Icarus' Lift, so maybe Icarus' wings are just a gliding thing? And Pegasus wings are for flying? And I read somewhere that that's not Pegasus but a Griffin

We haven't seen Pegasus yet. I don't think we cut Pegasus' wings off, but use him, himself, to fly around.

I hope riding peguses will be fun. It sounds like a really good idea to put him in the game.

I do know of one instance in which you may use Pegasus...that is the battle verse Icarus'. Read it in the newest GI. You'll have to battle him near the sun.
Also, there was a mention of having 'tornado' as a power. Being able to combine that with your melee and magic attacks. ------------------- If You're Like Us. Calling All Riders. Roll Up Beside Us. No Place To Hide Us[Phenomenon - TFK]
