God of War Forum - Some Quick Guidelines

Hi folks,

As some of you may remember from days gone past, raijin1999 and I moderate the section which God of War is in, and for the past few months, both of us have been having fun with tiny little issues that took up a ton of our time. During that point in time, a few of things ran under the radar that were not acceptable at any point in time.

I'm going to go for the five major areas that need changing now.

Spamming

Yes, this forum has had quite a bit of spamming over the past few weeks. If it doesn't add content to the topic, than it is spamming and, in all rights and purposes, should be deleted as such. Keep in mind, spamming in Neoseeker forums is not acceptable and could lead to a ban as a result if you persist long enough.

Making New Threads

A lot of topics tend to be straying at this point. I highly recommend that you work at making new threads if there is a topic you want to discuss. For example, in a thread about your least favourite boss, you should not be talking about a certain weapon without references to bosses, make a new thread to do so.

Flaming

Some definite issues have arrived with flaming recently. Calling people morons, idiots, whatever else have you is not something which is acceptable and is much worse than spamming could be. If you extensively flame within the forum, it can lead to a site-wide ban after enough of it. Do not take this lightly. If you find yourself being aggressive to someone else, it's time to take a breather from the forum and go outside for a bit.

Arrogance in Posts

Another major issue facing this forum right now is the sheer arrogance in the posts. I, and many others, don't care that you never died, defeated the game in a day, or managed to finish off a boss with no problems. Gloating in threads which don't need it is an issue which needs to be resolved now. You are not to greatest thing since whatever made bread first sliced it, and since this forum is for discussion and help, it is not a place for people to stand on soapboxes and speak about great deeds. =/

Welcoming Newcomers

This forum is not a clique and it won't be presented as one. I've seen a good deal of new members turned away because some member was overly arrogant towards them, told them their accomplishments were crap or that their tips sucked, or just insulting them in general. Be welcoming, be kind, and talk with them respectfully, as you should each other.
