M.O.X. is recruited by speaking to it.

M.O.X. is only available to accounts which have access to all three released Guild Wars campaigns (Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall). In addition to this requirement, the character attempting to unlock M.O.X. must be at least level 10 to recruit it.

Guild Wars Eye of the North, since it is an expansion, is not part of the requirement.

To find M.O.X.:

* In Tyria, head into North Kryta Province from the northwestern exit of Lion's Arch.
* In Cantha, head into Bukdek Byway from the southeastern exit of Kaineng Center.
* In Elona, head into Plains of Jarin from the northwestern exit of Kamadan, Jewel of Istan.

Talking to M.O.X. for the first time will unlock it as a hero. In addition, a Golem User Manual is also placed into the character's inventory.

* Unlike other Golems, M.O.X. is fleshy and susceptible to all conditions.
* Due to its size and hidden weapons, M.O.X is an exclusively PvE hero and thus unable to be used in PvP. (source)
* In combat, any weapon M.O.X. is wielding does not appear on its model due to the attacking animation used by Golems.
* When you talk to M.O.X. for the first time, it will give you a Golem User Manual, which can be used by players to gain access to the quest Zinn's Task.
* Because it lacks armor upgrades, M.O.X. is the only hero that can be added to the Hall of Monuments without an armor upgrade.
* M.O.X.'s default weapon is a max damage blue 9 req Clockwork Scythe of Fortitude with Damage +10% (while Enchanted) and Health +20.
* Unlike other heros, M.O.X. will keep up with you if you are running with increased speed.
* Your account must contain the full release versions of all three campaigns; trial keys will not make M.O.X. available.

The Fire Imp is a combat ally "leveling buddy" available to players below level 20. He's designed to help newer players level up, so his level matches the player's at the time he is summoned. Once acquired, the Fire Imp can be summoned for 60 minutes at a time using the Igneous Summoning Stone item, but certain restrictions apply: you can have only one Summoning Stone ally in your party at a time, and you can only use the Igneous Summoning Stone once every 60 minutes per instance—so if you whistle up a Fire Imp, send him into combat, and he dies after 10 seconds, you have a 59:50 wait before you can bring him back again. That is, of course, unless another player in your party summons their own Fire Imp after yours dies, in which case your party won't have to wait long at all before replacing the feisty little guy.
