TWIIIIIIIIIX! (Fable 2 has screwed me again) |
|
Ok, so I just encountered a problem about a half an hour ago. I'm a person who loved Fable, but despises Fable 2. However, I'm willing to give it a chance, and the whole family thing really intrigued me so I wanted to try it out. Eventually I found the game not so bad after all, but of course it doesn't live up to the original.
Anyways, my spouse is...or was...Alex. I made her fall in love with me, engaged to her in front of the Demon Door, and the Household inside was our place. I made the rather good husband, despite being out and about most the time. I supplied about 15x the original amount in expenses, so there was no complaints with that. I visited every time after a quest or job and made sure to please her every time. I've given her quite a few gifts, and her general idea of me is very attractive, very funny, and very likeable. I had returned from a Beetle slaying with intentions of finally attempting a conceiving. Once I set foot in my home, my wife, still madly in love with me, strangely decides to divorce. What the hell is going on? Has the game once again screwed me over? I can't even do the thing I wanted to despite all the other things I disliked. So now I'm back to feeling unsatisfied, and I'm sure my hero is too. Perhaps a glitch or something? I really shouldn't have saved before I visited her...it would have been so much better if the game had MORE THAN ONE SAVE SLOT. So, can anyone help out, or we could also discuss similar experiences.

You can have like 7 or 8 files, so there's no excuse for saying you don't wanna restart because you can't. Just get another girl.

I could easily, but still, that bothers me that out of no reason and from out of nowhere, my spouse files for divorce. I highly doubt any of my other families will last therefore.
And Lionhead said they were trying to make a more realistic game. PAH. Unless you're married to a complete mental case. And what are you talking about, 7 or 8 files?

There are a grand total of 6 save slots; however, each one can only be used for a single character.

Fable 2 is like all modern games, it is fun, replayable.... and has tons of glitches. You my friend found one. Best thing to do is move on. Besides, Alex is far from the best choice for a spouse.

Get a new wife, not exactly challenging, just find the first ditzy blonde and start arm pumping and flirting and dancing and sock puppeting, then throw her a ring. Done.
Start the bedtime dance, boom, you've got yourself a toddler. The family side of the game is kinda dull though. Not my thing. Each to their own though. I'm more of a fan of slaughtering villages and stuff ------------------- ![]() Credit to Exo for the banner OMFGWTFBBQ

Yea, I like killing people alot more than starting a family. But one house that I know has no glitches is the farm you can buy if you kill the bandit in Brightwood for the farmer, and find his son someone to spend his life with.
I have an evil character with good morality, my wife is Lady Grey, I have a child, and I never have any problems with that house. ------------------- Stop movin so I can shoot ya.

Yeah "Serenity Farm" is full of glitches. I remeber my son became completely uncommunacative, and all he did all day was coware in cornor. I remeber I started calling him autistic due to this. I had to progress in the story line for him to stop acting like this. I was so happy when I saw him acting normal again.
quote MastaCI think he's right this house has no family glitches. ------------------- ![]() ![]()

So I'm gonna guess that once Alex leaves, I wont be able to find her again? I'm quite picky about my spouse as I don't want one that will annoy me. In the first Fable, I actually dragged a Hero in training from the guild all the way to Oakvale just because basically all the female NPC's in the game had the most annoying voice, except for a few Hero's at the guild who coincidentally sound just like Lady Grey.
UPDATE: Well, I finally got around to trying Fable 2 after hooking my XBOX up to the internet and getting the game updated...Looks like that did the trick, she's happy and I finally got to bear a son named Ross...If only I knew how to make him grow.
