I am trying to get the legandary weapon that is in/near brightwood tower. I have read that it is up near the top where the cullis gate looking thing is. From what I read, it is on the left where the railing is crumbled. My problem is I can see the railing is crumbled, but there is a statue of some kind blocking the crumbled railing. Did I have to get it when I went there the first time and the commandant kidnapped the guy? Or do I have to wait till a later point? I am at the point where I have beaten the gladiator type quest and now get to be a guard. Have I missed my oppurtunity? PLEASE HELP!

If I remember correctly, you need to go back after you fight all of Lucien's minions while the Hero of Will prepares the Cullis Gate, and you warp to Wraithmarsh(haven't played in so long I can't remember what anything is called).

You need to clear Wraithmarsh and arrive at Bloodstone, THEN go back to Brightwood tower and obtain the sword at the end of the little dungeon.

But that should be it.

You don't really miss your opportunity to get any Legendary weapons if I remember correctly. With the exception of the Maelstrom and Rising Sun of course, which can only be obtained on one file at a time while playing as a Good or Evil character. Unless I'm missing something.

those are both missable, yes, but as the above poster said, you can get both at once. you just have to do so BEFORE going to the spire.
