3 Odd Fable Glitches |
|
So i bought this game when it first game out, beat it, traded it in. Recently i repurchased it and the DLC, began a new game and started noticing some glitches ive never seen. Did some googling, no help so far.
1. "This Door Cannot Be Opened At This Time". Every few seconds this pops up at the top of my screen no matter what im doing, where i am. Ive been far away from doors, next to doors, anywhere. This started happening about half way through the game and hasnt stopped. Cant get it to stop either, as soon as it begins to fade it pops right back up. 2. "Something Rotten". I actually got this quest done but before when id hit the button to travel to this location (Rookridge Inn) my TV would have a black screen and just freeze up had to restart my xbox. 3. "Something Love" (Lady Grey Quest). I picked up this quest, everything seemed fine. Collected the pieces, but when i got her head and tried to hand it in the glitches began. The quest giver would be in the basement waiting for me to hand in the quest but i wasnt able too. I turned my game off and restarted it when now it says that i havent done any of this quest, yet i can run back and forth into the cemetary mansion and hand in the top and bottom but not the head. Will any of these glitches hinder me from getting achievements? I know the Lady Grey one might since i dont think ill be able to buy that building now and its a part of that quest to get a huge real estate empire? Would it mess me up that much if i just totally skip this quest.

I recommend to just go to a rental game store, rent fable 2, and swap the disks if it doesn't have the logo on it.

quote Hell_RellActually, the achievement doesn't need you to buy Castle Fairfax. Castle Fairfax does make it easier, but if you buy every other building, and possibly do some improvements (by upgrading furniture), then you can get the achievement that way. Besides, you don't have to beat the 'Love Hurts' quest (the Lady Grey one) to buy Castle Fairfax; all you need to do is finish the story. -------------------

"The Lady Grey quest glitch will prevent you from finding all 50 gargoyles (one is inside a crypt that you can access only after purchasing the mansion, which is done after the quest) and all 50 keys (same as before, although 51 are in game so you may be able to work with it)."
Someone from another forum posted that. EDIT - I havent checked to see if this happens on my original save game or if its just this one.

re: 3 Odd Fable Glitches |
quote Hell_RellYou specifically specified the 'Ruler of Albion' Achievement in the section of your post that I quoted, so I specifically mentioned information on that achievement. As for the Lady Grey stopping you from getting all the Gargoyles and Silver Keys, then I will admit that it can screw your game over. However, this has nothing to do with Castle Fairfax or the 'Ruler of Albion' achievement. After completing the 'Love Hurts' quest, you can buy the Cemetary Mansion (not Castle Fairfax) that the Gravekeeper lived in. Upon purchase, you're given a key to the gate in the upper area of the cemetary (the place with all the furniture lying around). That key leads to Shelly Crypt, which does have 1 Gargoyle and 1 Silver Key, so that would kill 2 of your achievements should you decide to skip the quest. Personally, I had a similar problem with this quest. I had the first body part, but was being directed back to where I'd found it. Thankfully, I hadn't saved during the mission, so I simply quit the game, then reloaded it and initiated the quest again. That time, I had no problems. Unfortunately, that's all the help I can offer. -------------------
