Man, I let the missing stuff from Madden 06 go, because usually the first game on a new system is missing things. Madden 2000 didnt have key stuff on PS2, so I figured that with 07 all would be right again.

Much to my dismay, having dropped 65 bucks on this, I get it home to find out that they are still lacking in multiple aspects.


1. No fantasy draft?

Either I cant find it and Im blind, or there is no fantasy draft yet again. This was the main reason I bought the game, because my friends and I play multiple team franchises and compete for the championship with a completely new league. It wasnt an option in 06, and I guess it isnt one now.


2. Defensive assignments.

What the hell is wrong with EA, leaving this feature out? Why can I not assign defenders to a particular man all game long? Now, the Chiefs have Law and Surtain so the damage is minimal on the outside, but all my friend has to do is move his most dangerous receiver to #3, and he can burn my linebacker, safety, or nickel corner all day long.


3. Defensive playmaker is nonexistent. I used to be able to assign safeties to specific guys to double team, tell certain linebackers to blitz while others remain in coverage, and do the same with linemen. Now its just bare bones coverage audibles, and positioning left, right, or center for the d-line and linebackers.


4. I still cant edit players!! If I want to change someone's number or position, I cant. Nothing burns me more than to see a linebacker in Chiefs red wearing #58, or a QB wearing #16. Cant change it when it happens though, without flat out cutting the player. I also liked to go through and change all the ridiculously low injury ratings to something a little higher so they can make it through more than one collision without going on the IR.


5. Noone tries to block FGs for yet another year.

How hard is it to program a play where everyone jumps and puts their hands up to try to block a kick? Why is it that year after year after year, the only player on my team that tries to block the kick is the one that im controlling? The rest of them run straight forward and lock up with the guy in front of them and never attempt to block the kick.

Its ridiculous. If the game comes down to a field goal, basicly your only prayer is that your opponent just botches the kick, because there is ZERO chance of it getting blocked, because noone is trying.


6. Substitutions for every play still not in.

All we get are the packages that switch when you press the LT. I cant go into my plays and just assign certain guys to certain positions in each formation like I used to. Another annoying oversight by the folks at EA.

Put a bunch of Florida State players on your team. The enjoy blocking field goals.

i hear wiht the #58 deal... i played the cowboys today and theyre new RB wears 22 and a QB with 12 SACRELIG!!!!!

When will madden add a retired numbers function???

My complaints:

Defensive Catching.

Offering online without fatigue.

Offering online on shitty servers.

The navigation once you get into a mode (as in Superstar or Franchise).

The lack of Owner mode.
