ahhh speed isnt everything. try playing A Diversion. i hate that level. the thunderbolt is the best for it. fly it right and you can stay with the helicopters (by right, i mean fly just above the stall speed).

god i love the fenrirs shock missiles. pity there are only two missles though. lol, i finished puna base off one and a half minutes into the game.

How many planes do you need? The Wyvern is like a flying Bugatti Veyron. It doesn't get any better!

well i guess there are different planes for different situations (try operation x on ace difficulty with an a10). and then there are the special weapons which you have on one aircraft, but not on others (like your favorite aircraft). there are at least two hidden specs that arent shown for aircraft selection as well. the two that i know of (not sure if there are more or not) are acceleration, and stall speed/weight. acceleration speaks for itself, being how quickly you gain and lose speed, and weight/stall speed being at what speed you are at when the aircraft will start to stall.

while im on that note, if you are doing the mission A Diversion, its best to use the Falken or the Cariburn, but have it completely weight trimmed, no matter how low the specs go (especially defense for the cariburn). this way, you wont have to do a patrol pattern around the helicopters. instead, travel right at the stall speed, and you will (only just) maintain formation with the helis. this way, youd be able to get through the level without losing a single heli.

Maybe. I always found the wyvern to be the best in any situation, whether its top speed through a dogfight, top speed through a bombing run, or top speed through an arch on a street leading to Gaiuss tower. It has the best handling, great speed, and is just generally reliable in every stat.

well the wyvern is fast, but not as fast as the falken. ive recently taken a liking to another aircraft. i dont remember the name, but it was a tuneable aircraft on the top row on aircraft selection, third from the right. the reason i like this aircraft now is because of the upgrade which removes the 2 missile limiter, so it becomes 4. and the top speed is a reasonable 1800 mph with my tuning layout.

I remember the Falken. Its a high performance aircraft, but somehow it just isn't as satisfying to fly.

I don't. When I say I remember it, I mean I remember it from the Belkan war, I never bothered to get it in Skies of Deception.
