The Digivolutions in the animation and the Digivolutions in the games are different in many ways. This is something of an example of it.

But to stop confusion all marketed items and that kind of stuff go by the show's digivolution line instead of the game's line.

Here is the whole point people. This is evolution. They are SUPPOSED to change a lot!. Elements, outer appearance, it doesn't matter. thats wat evolution is. in real life, animals can evolve from a mmal to a fish to a bird and or vice versa. it doesn't need to make sense. evolution is a change in ones self to better adapt themselves for survival. If growing wings helps you survive, then whose stopping you? go ahead and have all the wings you need. a digimon does'nt have just 1 line of evolution and a species doesn't have only 1 path to follow in evolution.

Oh, come on. I've never seen a bird actually evolved into a mammal in real world before. And kitty, the GranKuwagamon's nice. There's one in my banner too.

not a mammal to a bird, but mammals do evolve into other weird things. The whale for example. it used to be a land mammal. it is currently in the process of evolving into a fish. although it is still a mammal it cannot live out of water. it's basically half fish. in a few millions years I predict whales will jsut be large fish and not mammals anymore. The digitla world mimmics the real world, but not all together accurately. That is why evolution in the digital world is a quick instantanious thing where you go from 1 being to another in around 30 seconds. You build up to it then it happens all at once. It's kinda like in tamers with the transition from day to night.

Yes. Now that you mention it. It does seems that Whales will completely evolve into full-fish in a few million years. It's getting off-topic so let's get back on topic.
