Yeah so It's been a long while since I've posted here but I suppose out of everywhere I've been this is the best place to evolve my writing skills.

Star

Your eyes are like the stars that light up the night,
They glisten and they sparkle oh they shine so bright.
Your smile is glorious it puts the world to shame,
Oh I just wish that you were mine to claim.

Your beauty is indescribable it makes me weak,
When you walk in the room it's just so hard to speak.
I wish I could get the courage to walk right up to you,
But whenever I try I can never seem to pull through.

I don't know what to do, I haven't a clue,
But I can't stand to go on without you.
No matter what anyone else says I know what you are,
To me you will always be my shining star.

Waiting for you
There are times when life gets you down,
Times when you wish you had someone around,
Someone to pick you up when your down.

Theres something that holding me,
I carry the lock but lack the key,
That little something to set me free.

I need someone that'll make things right,
Someone to help me see the light,
Someone to help me get through the night.

So while I hope my dreams will come true,
Even if they're overdue,
I will always be waiting for you.

Ugh the 2nd line of the last stanza is bleh.

why do my poems seems so similiar to yours? they have to do with the same thing. well i like this one as well and once again i can relate

Time seems to stop when I'm with you,
It's so easy to forget all the troubles I've been through.
You pick me up when I am down,
You make me smile when I wear a frown.
These feelings I get just can't be explained,
The joy I experience can not be contained.
It's amazing how you do what you do,
That's why I wouldn't be anywhere else but here with you.

Your poems will definitely work on girls with low self-esteem who are suckers for melodramatic exaggerations;)

Friends
They stand by your side when no one else will,
They do stupid things with you just to get a thrill.
They hang out with you because you are you,
They hang out with you because of the things that you do.
They talk to you when your feeling low,
They fill in the holes and help us grow.
They take you to places you never knew,
They forgive you when you go askew.

It's obvious to see these people are rare,
Those people who truly do care.
These type of people with a hand to lend,
Are the ones you should be calling friend.

Gone
You lifted me up when I were feeling down,
You made me smile when I were wearing a frown.
You made me laugh whenever I cried,
You told me the truth when everyone else lied.

Something happened and things fell apart,
Without even knowing I broke your heart.
It wasn't until you left that I figured out,
That it was you I couldn't live without.

I can't believe I pushed you away,
The one thing that got me through the day.
Now that your gone there's nothing I can do,
To fill in the hole that was meant for you.

Dreams
Right when I saw you you stole my heart,
Everyday since then it's been breaking apart.
Theres not a word that can describe my love for you,
If you'd just give me a chance you'll know its true.

I just can't stand how you can just pass me by,
Like I'm just one of those other guys.
It kills me inside to know that you'll never see,
That you and I were destined to be.

I guess sometimes things aren't the way they seem,
That some things are only meant to exist in dreams.
I can't wait for you forever I've got things to do,
But I'll never forget how much I loved you.

Breathe

When I'm with you time seems to freeze,
Whenever you're around I just can't breathe.
Nothing in this world sounds better,
Than lying here with you forever.

Your voice is like a gentle breeze,
When you speak I just can't breathe.
Words can't describe the look in your eye,
They twinkle and sparkle like the stars in the sky.

I'm not asking for your sympathy,
But when you're gone I just can't breathe.
If you were to leave I'd die inside,
Because it's your love that keeps me alive.

So stay a while here with me,
Maybe then I can just breathe.

What Am I Supposed to Do?
I've been with you through it all,
Through all your problems big and small.
I've been by your side through thick and thin,
Done almost anything because I'm your friend.

But now this friendship is turning into something more,
I don't go through a day without wishing I was yours.
It's hard to keep these emotions at bay,
But all my attempts seem to push you away.

When your around it pains my heart,
It kills me whenever we're apart.
So tell me what I'm supposed to do,
Because I'm completely lost without you.

I gave you my heart, I gave you my soul,
I always thought you were the one to make me whole.
But now I see I was wrong once more,
That you were just another locked door.
I'm sick and tired of losing this game,
It's hard to love someone who doesn't feel the same.
So I'll pick up the pieces of this broken heart,
And wander upon this lonely road I'll start.
I wish you happiness I really do,
But how I wish I could be with you.
