The thing about writing forums is that it can be very hard to manage politically. I don't feel like I'm a good enough writer to be critiquing others works. I'll read their stories and enjoy them, but I think most people prefer critique rather than just a comment saying how much you like it. Now the thing is, if I go off posting my stories without critiquing others some people may think I'm selfish. Drama for the loss?

Also, when will this forum be updated? The featured writer, stories, etc is like 4 years old..

I tend not to comment on where peple can improve, because usually people write with their hearts and pour their "soul" into their work. I'd rather not personally be told what's wrong with the few poems I write, because I spend such time getting them exactly how I want them to be. You can't criticise pure creativity.
If I think something could be better, doesn't matter. The article in question is an expression of the writer's mind, and I wouldn't want to play with that.

Who here thinks that poetry should have its own forum or even sub-forum? I think it would be good to separate it from the stories and fan-fics because of the innate differences in the writing styles of each genre... that and I really don't want to have to sift through pages of ramances and sci-fi efore finding another poetry thread besides my own.

I honestly have no clue as to whether or not the answer to my question is even on this forum, but I'm thinking of posting different parts of a 600-page novel I'm working on. I need opinions, and not just from my friends. Haha, wouldn't it be pretty bad to post it on Neo? Due to people possibly stealing my ideas and whatnot?

I'm sure you'd get it all polished up. Me, I'm real perfectionist about my work if I love it. I'd probably never leave it alone. In fact, I know I'll start way back in the prologue once my vocabulary's better in the future, haha.

Good luck with that. If you can, tell everyone how it goes so us writers can see how it's like to start out with the serious processes. ^^b

<sub>I didn't say concrit wasn't allowed. I said the forum was overrun by fanbrats who don't know how to do it and don't see the point in it.

Haha, I agree with that. Not to be a little harsh, but I stumbled upon a lot of "stories" on here that were meant for "I'll keep going until I run out of ideas". I've seen interesting ones, but there are others that pretty much ruin the effect of reading the beginning of a new story, you know? Well, that's them.

The way you put things, it makes me wonder what this place was like when you said it was better. Hah, my (ridiculously and embarrassingly) lengthy prologue of my own work was kicked back to the second page in a flash. The short stories, the ones with seven lines per post, seem to be the most viewed. Probably because long stories are intimidating. No clue.

Frankly there's no reason to post my work in this forum anymore because there's no actual critique. All this forum is is a clique of about 10 people posting new repetitive stories every day. This forum has gone down the drain, especially inbetween the times we didn't have a constant mod watching the forum.

EDIT: Frankly there needs to be a subforum for the joint stories because there's just too many and joint stories aren't worth reading. They may be fun for the authors but other than that they provide nothing else. Looking at the front page right now, half of it is joint stories. It was a good idea back when Deis first presented it, and people put lots of effort into their sections but now it's just annoying.
