The pitter-patter of rain against our roof awakens me.
Another day, another dollar.
Okay, not really. I'm a tenth grader at Bishton High.
And I don't have a job. Although, I want one.

Sighing, I get out of bed and head right for the bathroom.
After a quick shower, I change into a cute ensemble.
A jean mini-skirt with a white, flowing tank.
After my dark, brunette hair is straightened and brushed, I go downstairs.
"Hey, darling," my dad smiles.
"Hi, daddy. What are we having?"
I look around for my mom. She's no where in sight.
"She went to work already." It's like he read my mind.
"Oh. Okay."
"Anyway, breakfast is scrambled eggs and toast. Enjoy."
My dad slides me a plate along our marble island, and I take a seat at one of the stools.
Ah. The lovely morning routine.

Grayson

My alarm clock wakes me up.
I don't want to get up though. I'll have to face everyone at school, I don't want that.
People there called me Grayson the Emo Boy.
Don't laugh, it isn't exactly funny.
Well, not to me.
Sighing, I drag myself out of the bed, and onto the floor.
I yawn, stretch, and run my fingers through my hair. I stumble to my closet and pick out black tight jeans, and a My Chemical Romance shirt.
Yes, Emo I am.
I put on some socks, and found my black and grey converse with little drawings on them, which I drew myself.
My mom tells me that I'm a good artist, but mother's are supposed to say that. They don't really mean it, they never do.
They just try to make you feel better by kissing those booboo's.
It never actually helped me, by the way.
"Gray! Breakfast!" I heard.
It was my stupid sixth grade sister, Danielle.
God, she's annoying.

"Dad?" I place a forkful of eggs into my mouth and swallow.
"Hmmm?"
"Where's Brody?" I look around for my twin brother, but he's no where in sight.
"He already left."
I slam my fork down. "Are you sure I'm not late?"
He looks at the clock. 7:45 it reads.
"No. You're not. I think he went in to meet with his band, or something."
I roll my eyes. Brody and his stupid rock band. "The Disease."
Stupid name. Yeah.
"Well, I'm going now."
I snatch my tote from the back of a dining chair.
"All right. I'll be here after school. Bye."
I kiss my dad on the cheek and dash out the door.
Crap! The rain!
I run back inside and grab an umbrella.
Okay, now I'm set.

Grayson

I run down the stairs.
"I'm not hungry," I announce.
"Gray, you have to eat!" my mother exclaims. "You'll faint and end up like those anorexic models!"
"I don't care," I tell her. "Bye."
I leave the house after getting my backpack.
It's raining outside, but I don't care.
I realize I'm not wearing a hood or anything.
Oh well. Serves me right.
The walk to school is like the other days, my hands in my pockets and my head low, full of suicidal thoughts.
I really have no idea why I'm so depressed.

The walk to school really isn't that bad.
Since I have a huge-ass umbrella hovering over me, I hardly get wet.
Smiling, I walk onto school campus and great my two best friends.
"Why are you guys in the rain?" I laugh.
Zoe giggles. "Because of him."
She points to an obvious emo kid strolling onto the grounds.
"Have I seen him before?" I ask.
"Hardly. You have completely different schedules." Heather rolls her eyes.
I glance at her. "And how do you know?"
"Cause he has the same schedule as me."
"Oh."

I hear some girls giggling nearby when I reach the school property.
It's some girl and her two friends, one of which is giggling and saying something about "the emo kid".
Oh well.
It doesn't matter anyways. I'll kill myself, see if they all start laughing then.
Then again, they probably will.
I wish I had friends.
I did have a friend, her name was Alexandra.
But guess what?
She moved all the way to London, England.
I couldn't believe it.
But she was long gone now, no need to mope over her.

"Guys, don't laugh," I sigh.
"Why not? It's funny that people get depressed like that," Heather snickers.
"Seriously. He's probably depressed over something big, otherwise he wouldn't be like that."
Zoe sighs. "I guess you're right. Good thing we have you to set us straight."
I roll my eyes. "You make me sound like Dr. Phil."
"Come on, we're still out here in the rain."
Heather sprints ahead, Zoe and I following close behind.

I overhear one of the girls saying "Guys, don't laugh".
Hmm. She probably doesn't mean it, just trying to look like she cares.
No one really cares about me, except for Alex.
We email each other sometimes, and rarely we call. I could call her more, but I have to pay my own long distance charges.
So we only keep in touch by email.
Alex hardly ever gets on her laptop though, she's busy with friends, sports, and her boyfriend.
She always ends her emails with "I miss you"'s, and other caring things.
I know that she really means it. She's the only one who makes me feel happier.
Sighing, I entered the school building, still sulking.
No, I don't do it for the attention.
No one really pays attention to me anyways.

I see that emo kid walk into school, and my stomach drops.
There's just something about him...I don't know.
There's just a feeling in the pit of my stomach, something making me ache.
It's the same feeling I got when my cousin Alex moved away to England.
God, were we close.
Sighing, I open my locker and take out my English book.
Away to Honors.

I go to my locker, and open it.
The same poster of Green Day, the same text books and shorts for gym.
And the same letter I had gotten from Alex, her first one she sent from England.
I don't look at it. Just looking at her letters and packages makes me feel depressed.
More depressed than I already am, to be specific.
I shut my locker after grabbing my math text book, and my binder. Math exam first thing that morning, oh goody.

I take a seat in the back row, where I normally sit.
Zoe sits next to me and as mentioned before, Heather has a totally different schedule.
I lick my lips and look outside.
The rain stopped. Cool.
"All right class. Page two-oh-three. Now." Mr. Won raises a brow and turns toward the board.
A group of guys next to me snicker and throw airplanes.
I roll my eyes. So immature.

I take a seat in the very back, where no one will pay attention to me.
Just even thinking about Alex being half-way across the world makes me upset.
I really don't need anyone's pity now. Actually, I never do, because guess what?
NO ONE EVER PITIES ME!
Haha.
Well, it's true.

The teacher, Mrs. Jenkins, hands out our exams, which are five pages in length. We have an hour to take the exam, and we can read after finishing, the class is informed.
I take out my pencil, and write down my name on the top left corner. Just as I'm putting the "N", I feel like I'm being watched.
I look up to see that girl today, the one that was laughing about me and calling me "that emo kid".
I glare at her, and she stops. I resume to my test.

For homework, the class needs to finish a worksheet.
Luckily, I complete mine in class.
"Can you help me with number seventeen?" Zoe whispers.
"Yeah, in the hall. Just skip it."
She nods her head and continues working.
"Oh, and number eighteen," she whispers.
I roll my eyes. Zoe can be such an airhead.

The bell rings after I finish the last question.
"Okay class, pass your papers to the front as you exit the room," Mrs. Jenkins ordered.
The class did as they were told. Yep, we're all good people, obedient. We're like loyal dogs.
Not. Jenkins is just tough on us.
I leave the room after passing my exam to the front, and gathering my belongings.
Next class is gym.
Oh. goody. I can't wait!
