re: Contemplation || [[12+ || Story]] |
It was in the summer of 2006 when I was only 13-years old. I was strolling my neighborhood to enjoy the cool breeze of the current weather that night. Everything was going perfectly, until a car came speeding past me with a familiar voice calling me. "Clo! Clo! Hey, babe! Need a ride?" it called. I looked towards the car and looked through the half-way opened window. It was a sophomore from high school, a jock in my class. His hair was so cute and smooth-looking, almost like Synyster Gate's hairstyle. "Hey, sweetheart, get into this seat. You look lonely tonight. Say, how about you get into my car and we head over to my house? Sound good? I'll treat you real well. We'll have a little supper in my bedroom." The signals were pretty clear. He just wanted to do "it" with me, just so he could get me pregnant and pretend to dump me, and try to impress the rest of the jocks in my class. "Get away, Justin!" I shouted. "I don't want to do it! You sicko! Get away from me!" I sped off back to my house, hearing the sounds of a car chasing after me. I looked back to see his Blue Corvette. I managed to make it into my driveway. But soon enough, his small car reached into the driveway, almost ready to run me down. I screamed and ran up to my porch, almost scared of him. "Hey baby, don't be scared. Big ol' Justin will take care of you and bring you to his house. C'mon. What do you say, sweetie? Just one little night at Justin's house?" "Get away, you... you! Just get away! I'm not falling for this dumb trick of yours, just so you can get more popular!" "Come on, baby..." he whispered, but loud enough for me to hear. "It's almost easy just to say yes." I made an attempt to open the door, until I finally realized that it was locked. I felt a drizzle pound onto my head, and then another one, and soon, several drizzles coming down from the sky. The rain began to pick up, I could have told just from the soft thunder sounds coming from above. I cursed under my breath and watched Justin get out of his car, getting a step closer to me. I looked back to the door and made another attempt at opening the door. It was still locked. I was about to scream until I leaned on the door, and fell back from it opening. I looked up to see my dad, with a worried look on his face. Picking up the pace, I quickly got up and ran into the house, my hair and clothes dripping wet. My dad clenched his fist and got outside onto the porch without a jacket. "Get out of here, you rat! And never come back!" I looked through the glass door, watching Justin run off into his car and back out of the driveway. My dad got back into the house, and my mom came behind me and placed a dry towel around my body so I could dry. My dad and mom brought me upstairs to talk with me. "Clo, what did Justin try to do with you that he had to come over and annoy us all?" my dad asked, looking straight into my eyes. I sighed. "Well, you know... What every jock wants when he's in high school. You know... I just don't want to say the word... He wanted to have..." I twitched. "I'll just spell it. I find it inappropriate to say the word itself. He wanted to have S-E-X with me." My dad looked to the floor. "But dad! You know me. I want to stay a virgin. I want to be a good catholic for the rest of my life. And I want to stay that way." My dad smiled. "That's my girl." He rubbed my back. "Now go take a shower and go to bed." I nodded and watched my dad and mom walk out of my room. I grabbed some pajamas and went to the bathroom. I started the bath with some cool water, and took off my clothes. It was peaceful and quiet, until I started to hear rocks being banged onto the bathroom window. I took a peek outside and could see a figure, repeatedly throwing rocks at the window. Quickly, I wrapped an unused towel around my naked body and opened the window. "Pssst, Clo. Come down here. Your dad doesn't know I'm here. Quick, before he finds out." he whispered loudly. I rolled my eyes. "Justin, get away! I'm not going to do anything with you, even if I did want to! I'm going to stay a virgin all my life, and nothing's going to stop me; you're no exception!" I shouted back. After a while, I could hear a gun shot. I looked down and saw Justin, just lying on the ground, not even moving. Blood was in the middle of his chest. I gasped, quickly putting on some clothes. In a hurry, I ran downstairs and opened the door. Justin was on an ambulance cot, and dad was being cuffed and being forced to sit in a police car. I began to cry, and my mom came behind me, crying with me, but comforting me quietly. ------------------- ![]() ♥ simply having a wonderful christmas time ♥

"I can't believe this..." I whispered to my mom. "...Why did dad shoot Justin? I know he was following me and was trying to get me to do... "it" with him, but I think dad went a little bit too overboard. ...Am I right, mom? Am I?" My mom sighed. I could tell that she didn't agree with me. "Right..." Soon, a doorbell rang at the door. "I'll get it." my mom said. She ran to the door and opened it. I followed behind her and looked out the door. It was a police officer with pale skin and jet black hair. "Oh, hello, officer. Does there seem to be a problem?" The police officer sighed and got out his badge. "This is about your husband, Mr. Roxannes." he stated. "Come with me and we'll bring you to the jail he's locked in. We'll give you a chance to get em' outta jail." My mom's face lit up. "Oh thank you so much, officer! Thank you for giving us a chance to state why he should be bailed out of jail." The police officer nodded and led us into his police car. He closed our doors and got into his seat. My mom leaned towards me and whispered into my ear, "Honey, what should we say to the police officer to make your father get out of jail?" I shrugged. She glared at me. "Well, what a positive answer to give!" After a few blocks, we finally got to the jail. "Alright ladies. We're here." He helped us out of the car and led us into the jail. We found dad's cage. He looked more than miserable. "Mr. Roxannes, do you have anything to say to your family before we go through the process of deciding whether or not you're staying?" He cleared his throat. "Yes, I do. Can you give us a few moments alone?" The man nodded and went to his desk. "Guys, I love you so much. I'm sorry that I did such a wrong thing, but I couldn't help myself." "Dad, it's okay." I reassured him. "It's my fault. I should've never gone on that walk in the neighborhood." My mom shook her head. "No, it's my fault. I shouldn't have said "yes" to Clo to give her the permission to go out on a walk in the neighborhood." "No, it's none of your faults." He shook his head. "It's my fault. You should never blame anything on yourselves, when it's never your fault. I'll always be more than happier to take the blame for everything you do wrong." He smiled. "Now go out there and bail me out." I giggled and kissed my dad's cheek. Hopefully we would be able to get him out of there. Mom and I got to the officer's desk. "Are you ready to start the process, ma'am?" he asked. "Yes, please, officer." mom replied. The officer nodded. I took a deep breath and crossed my fingers under the desk, where nobody could see it crossed. The officer cleared his throat. "Alright, ma'am. Please start explaining why your husband should be put out of jail." "Well--" "My dad deserves to stay in his locked cage here!" I spat out. I covered my mouth, while hearing my mom's gasp. The officer's eyes widened. He shook his head. "Miss Roxannes, please explain why you'd prefer to let your father stay here in his cage." I sighed. "Well, I... um..." I closed my eyes. "I think that it was wrong of him to shoot the young citizen that he did. It was wrong of him to do that, and it was the wrong situation to do that at. Shooting is a terrible thing, and everyone deserves to have their right to live a life. Whoever God made deserves to live. And my father shooting that boy was wrong. No matter how obnoxious and annoying he was being, I say that he should stay here in his cage." I opened back up my eyes and sighed. "And that's my statement." The officer nodded. "I see, I see..." He turned to my mom. "What's your explanation, Mrs. Roxannes?" My mom remained silent. I could see the drops of tears run down her cheeks. I winced and closed my eyes. Why did I say that? That was probably why she was crying. "I-I..." my mom managed to spit out. "I have to agree with my daughter..." I gasped and shook my head. "Mom..." "No, sweetie, I'm making the right decision." "But mom!" I shouted at her. I got out of my seat and pushed it to the ground. "You don't know what you're saying!" I bit my lip as tears flowed from my swollen eyes. I closed my eyes and slapped my mother's cheek hard. I felt so powerful at that moment. I pulled back my hand and clenched my fist. "You... you moron! Do you realize what you're doing!? You're trying to make your own husband stay here in jail!" "Then why did you say that he deserves to stay?" my mom yelled, angry. She was filled with power. She clenched her fist and punched my stomach powerfully. "You idiot. I, nor your father, raised you like this! You may have not realized it yet, but a catholic doesn't act this way!" She slapped my cheek. After that, she said nothing else. Silence filled the jail. I bit my lip and looked back at my dad's cage. He was crying, praying. I slowly frowned and looked back at my mom. I slapped her back. "I'm not the idiot! If I was the idiot, I would have been the one to make dad cry!" She remained silent. We both stood still, out of our seats, everybody looking straight at us. I swallowed my saliva and walked away. "And where do you think you're going, young lady?" "I'm going to find my real mom... The mom that raised me and loved me." "C-Clo! Get back here!" I ignored my mom and got out of the building, walking to the local park. I got onto a swing and swung back and forth. Taking a deep breath, I closed my eyes and imagined what it'd be like without my mom and dad. ------------------- ![]() ♥ simply having a wonderful christmas time ♥

Great start (and a very intriguing plot line full of suspense, =O), but I think there's one way you could improve: more description and clarification. There were a few paragraphs I had to read over to really understand what was happening. Like these two paragraphs:
quoteIt would be nice if you added more description, the scene kind of happened too fast. Hmm... I can't think of the right words to say it. Here's what I would add if I were you (feel free to disregard the whole thing =P) quoteGah, got carried away. D= Lol, it can be really hard to add enough clarification, since you as the writer know exactly what is going on. Can't wait to read more!

re: Contemplation || [[12+ || Story]] |
- - - - - - - - - chapter - three :: After thinking about it for a while, I could help but shake my head, as always, and walk all the way home. Then, after I got home, I sat alone on my couch, taking a quiet nap. I could a door open and close, then a person walking upstairs, and then wheels rolling behind a person's tracks. Along with all the other kinds of noises, I could hear whispers, and people moving about inside the living room. I winced and opened my right eye. My mom was dragging a luggage outside, slowly walking outside, without me knowing about it. I opened both of my eyes and sat up on the couch. "Mom...?" I asked, still slightly asleep. "...Is that you? Where are you going...?" She stopped her movement and stood still, turning around to face me. "Honey, I'm just only... going to go grocery shopping." I rubbed my eye. "Then why were you dragging your luggage outside with you? Foods don't go into any kind of luggage..." She laughed and smiled. "No worries, honey. I'm only going to... um... go grocery shopping and then give your dad his belongings and some food." I shook my head. "But you're lying..." She glanced at her watch. "Oh honey, your dad's waiting. I told him I'd be there minutes ago! I have to go right away, I love you." She just walked out of the door with her luggage, and she locked the door behind her. She didn't even care to blow a kiss, like she usually did. I scratched my itchy hair, that had dandruff. "I just know she's lying... Where is she going, though...? She can't just leave me here alone... I'm only 13; it's not legal to leave a 13-year old alone in a house... Soon, the cops will come and arrest mom for leaving me here..." I shook my head. She'd never do such a thing. Even if we both knew that we just came from jail in a fight. "I think I'll just go to sleep right here on the couch, and see what happens in the morning..." I leaned my head on the arm of the couch, and pulled the light blanket over my warmed body. After some bustling in the bumpy couch, I managed to get some sleep. The Next Morning... The next morning, I woke up at 8:15 AM. I yawned and pulled the light blanket over my head, trying to run away from the noisy alarm. "Shut up, you stupid alarm clock!" I shouted at it. It still beeped, and I was almost about to destroy and crumple it, and then throw it outside for the garbage truck to collect it. I pulled away the light blanket from my body and got up. Slowly, I took the scrunchy that was on my wrist and tied my hair into a high ponytail. I walked over to the side table where the alarm clock, and set it to "turn off." I skipped to the table and got out my favorite cereal brand, "Honey Nut Cheerios." Mm, and it lowered my cholesterol, too. Even though it wasn't all that high... I took a bowl and a milk carton, along with the Honey Nut Cheerios cereal box, and took it to the dining room table. I poured some Honey Nut Cheerios into the bowl, and then some milk from the milk carton after-wards. Carefully, I sat down, and forgot about my spoon. "Gosh... urgh." I stopped myself from cursing and continued back into the kitchen. I looked through my eating utensil drawer and picked out a nice spoon, where I could see my reflection in. I sat back down into my seat, and heard the doorbell ring. I got up from my seat and hurried to the door, answering it after getting there. "Hello, is this... Clo Roxannes here at the door with me?" a police officer asked. "Yeah, why? Is there something wrong, officer...?" I asked. I hoped it wouldn't be bad news. Maybe that mom died. Or dad died. Or even Justin died. The thoughts just kept coming back and forth, non-stop. I shook my head and the officer just stared at me. He sighed. "Your mom is Kathleen Roxannes, right?" he asked. I nodded. "Well, she left you. We found her in her car, drunk, with some man in the passenger's seat, drunk as well. They were kissing. Do you think that that was your father, or someone else, ma'am?" My jaw dropped. "M-My dad is in j-jail..." I shook my head and started to describe him. "My dad has brown silky hair, down to his ears, blue eyes, pale skin, large smile, about 6'4". Please tell me that's him..." He shook his head with dismay. "I'm afraid that that's not him. Your mom seems to be cheating on your father, us police officers conclude." He handed me the photo. "This is the picture of the man who was in the car with your mother. It was taken last night, while he was getting out of your mother's car to get some towels to cover the car windows to secretly have a love affair with each other." I gasped. "That's right." I shook my head. "Then why did she bring her luggage last night?" I asked, while looking at the photo of the man. "She was planning on leaving you here alone to die so you wouldn't find out that she wanted to have a love affair with the man. Also, she brought the luggage so she could move in with the man and live with him, while your father stayed in jail without knowing any bit of information about this sick thing of your mom to do." He sighed. "Now both your mom and dad is in jail, along with the man that your mom wanted to have a love affair with." I looked to the floor, hiding my tears. "B-But that's just not... what she'd do..." I muttered. I wiped away a tear and looked up at the officer. I tried my hardest to give a good smile, but it turned out as a frown. Slowly, I handed him the photo of the man. "Thank you, officer... for telling me this. I'm going to go to the adoption center now, and stay there until I find some decent parents." He nodded. "I'll bring you there if you'd like." I shook my head. "No thanks, I'll walk. I don't mind walking alone in the morning. I used to do it all the time when my mom and dad wanted to have some alone time in their bedroom." I sniffled. "I'm going to go pack..." I smiled at the police officer. "Again, thanks for the information... I guess it was better than not figuring it out sooner or later." The police officer nodded again. "That's right." He stuffed the photo of the man into his pocket. "I should be going now." I nodded and went upstairs to pack my things. re: Contemplation || [[12+ || Story]] |
I packed away. I packed just about every single thing I owned. Since I'm such a neat freak, I divided certain things into certain groups. All my clothes belonged in one luggage, all my stuffed animals belonged in another, my jewelry belonged in a smaller bag, my video-games and game consoles in a bigger luggage, and all my school supplies in my normal everyday backpack. I searched the entire room for anything that I might've forgotten to put in one of my bags. I gasped at the sight of myself forgetting my special blanket. "I can't leave this here..." I whispered to myself. It was from my mom on my 6th birthday, and I always kept it ever-since. I began to cry, so I wiped away a tear from my eyes. Sighing, I ran downstairs with all my luggages and bags. My arms were feeling a little weak, but it didn't matter. I rushed outside and closed the door behind me, locking it as well. I took a deep breath and began my walk to the adoption center, which was only about three blocks away. "Clo!" a voice shouted from behind me. I looked behind me. I smiled and ran towards the voice. It was my old friend from kindergarten, who left school at 6th grade because she thought she wasn't smart, so she dropped out of embarrassment. "Clo, is that seriously you!? I can't believe it! I haven't seen you in two years!" She hugged me tightly. She looked at my bundle of bags and squinted. "Why are you carrying a ton of bags with you...? Are you going somewhere?" I sighed and glanced at my watch. "Sorry, Sierra. But I really have to go." "Wait! Clo! Where are you going!?" I ignored the voice that echoed behind me, and hurried past the three blocks that I had to travel through. I jogged so quickly that I felt practically breathless. After a few more soft steps from my running, I was finally at the adoption center. Relieved and tired, I entered through the glass doors of the adoption center and was greeted by a lady behind the front desk. The desk was wooden and waxed, nice and shiny. The woman was pretty and formal, with a red business sweater and skirt, brown hair up to her neck, and red high heels. She smiled. "Hi there hon." she welcomed. "Welcome to Cello Lane's adoption center. I'm Sally Russo. Just call me Sal or Sally. You look as though you want to be put into the adoption center, yes?" I nodded. "Yeah." I brushed away a strand of my dark brown hair, pushing it to the back of my ear. From before, my hair was in a high ponytail. It was short, due to my short hair that reached only a little below my ears. "But my parents don't know that I'm running away. They're both in jail, and I don't want to have anything to do with them anymore. Especially my mother." The woman, of the name Sally, sighed and ran her fingers onto the keyboard, fiddling with the keys. "Hm, I don't know if I can sneak ye outta yer parent's hands. But can I have your parents' names, and your address?" "Kathleen Roxannes and Cedrick Roxannes. Cello Lane 1835." I replied, tapping my fingers nervously against the waxed desk. The woman gasped. "...Is something wrong?" "My word!" she shouted. "Your mother is Kathleen Roxannes? I haven't seen her in ages! I was her best friend for life. That is... until Marie Ann came in and stole my bffl spotlight with Kathleen from me. She was one of the most popular girls in high school, and she used to always tease me. One day at lunch, I stole her boyfriend by asking him on a date. And she got back at me by becoming Kathleen's new best friend for life. And I never forgave Marie Ann for that... Oh god I wish I could just kill her one day." She clenched her fist. I slowly backed away from the front desk. "Um... should I just go?" She looked back at me, getting back straight to attention. She laughed softly. "No no, it's fine. I'll talk her into un-adopting you, and putting you in a different couple's hands." She stopped, becoming still, steady, and stiff. She slowly turned her head towards me. "That reminds me... What's so bad that Kathleen did that you don't really want to talk to you anymore?" I sighed. "Just this morning I figured out that she left my house just to try and have a love affair with some guy other than my father. From the picture that the police gave me, I could tell that he was about 10 years younger than my mom. And my dad was in jail from shooting a sophomore in my high school. So my dad had no idea about the affair." Sally gasped and shook her head. "I'll have to phone her about that just as well." She pointed to a door. "Just go through that door and you'll be in a playroom. The nearest door to the right will be where you'll be sleeping until someone decides to pick you up as their child." I nodded and followed her directions, getting into a playroom with mostly teens, some looking like they were 14, others 17, and some 15. I sighed and sat down in my little corner, keeping to myself. ------------------- ![]() ♥ simply having a wonderful christmas time ♥

re: Contemplation || [[12+ || Story]] |
- - - chapter - five :: Alone and in silence, I pulled my legs to my head, wrapping my arms around them, and leaning my head on my knees. I highly doubt I could make any kind of friend here. The best I could probably do is just give a soft smile. When I looked up, I could see some girls in a bundle, staring at me, and spitting some gossip into each others’ ears, probably about me. Beautiful. I haven’t even been here for one minute, and I already know that I’m going to be picked on. Quietly, I breathed through my nose. “Ohmigod, look at her. She is, like, sooo unfashionable. Like, just look at her! Rainbow socks with Ed Hardy high tops? Like, she has such bad taste!” I could hear one say. I shut my eyes, trying to hold in my anger. With anger, I sighed. “Hey, Brittney, that’s not nice. If you say another bad thing about her, I will literally make your life as fu**ing miserable as possible. Not to mention, as crappy as your outfit looks.” another girl said. The blond girl who said bad about me, whom was said to be named Brittney, gasped, holding her comeback back. Brittney shook her head. “Ugh, like, Jamiee! I thought you were, like, on our side? Or, like, unless you, like, want to be on the dork’s side.” The other girl laughed. “You are the dork’s side, idiot.” I giggled quietly. “Hey!” I shouted. Brittney turned to my corner where I was curled up, her blond hair bouncing. “...Uhh... like, hi?” “Oh, so you can hear me from here? So, are you not aware that if you can hear me from here, that I can hear you talking about me from there?” I snapped. Brittney “ohh!”ed, and Jamiee giggled. I rolled my eyes at Brittney, and watched as the girl with black hair that stood up for me walked up to my corner. “Oh... um, hi.” I mumbled. She laughed. “Hey.” She helped me up to my feet with a smile. “I’m Jamiee. And you?” I smiled softly. “I’m Clo. Clo Roxannes.” I replied. We shook hands solemnly, like we just had been claimed as business partners. “Umm... listen. Thanks for standing up for me against that Brittney girl. It meant a whole lot to me.” She shook her head. “Bleh. That’s nothing. I could do that any day. Arguing with her almost every day is pretty fun now.” I shook my head, hiding my laughter. “Oh, I hope you don’t mind me asking you this. How long have you been here in this adoption center?” I asked with curiosity. She took a minute to think, her fingers thrusting up and down from both fingers, probably from trying to contemplate how long she’s been here. “Er... Longer than three months, I think.” she stumbled. “God, I don’t even know. I’m dyslexic, I wouldn’t know the right number to explain how long I’ve been in this dumb adoption center.” “Oh...” I muttered under my breath. “I’m sorry. I didn’t know you were dyslexic.” She laughed. “You’re probably the only one in this whole adoption center that knows that right now.” She narrowed her eyes, forming a small glare. “Dare tell anyone, I’ll take back what I said about you to Brittney.” I took a gulp of my saliva and nodded, with frantic feelings. We giggled like we were little kids again, and curled up in our own little corner, starting to talk for seconds, that turned into minutes, that soon turned into hours. - - - After about approximately three hours of non-stop conversations, we could hear a door open and slam, and then soft footsteps. Jamiee and I stopped blabbering about stuff, and listened. We started to hear Sally talking to someone with an unfamiliar voice. “Hey, Sally.” the voice said. It sounded like it came from a man. Sally giggled. “Hey, Jacob! Is this your wife that you were talking about? ...Aimee, is it?” “Yes, that’s me.” a woman replied. “Uhh... We want to have a baby girl, but when Aimee took a pregnancy test last week, it said that Aimee wasn’t pregnant. So we decided to adopt a teenage girl from the adoption center right here on Cello Lane. Got any well-behaved teen girls, about... I don’t know, 13 or 14, that has good grades, has a positive attitude, ain’t emo... A good girl, pretty much. A perfect Catholic, and a girl that would remain a virgin all her life. Yes, that’s a good explanation of how we would want our daughter to be like, right, honey?” A soft, hysterical giggle echoed. “That’s exactly how I would want my daughter to be.” the woman from earlier said. “I know exactly the perfect daughter for you two.” Jamiee and I looked at each other with mixed feelings. “Well, looks like another devastated customer,” Jamiee muttered. “No-one here is a perfect Catholic. They’re all atheists here. And all of them at least had to have one love affair with someone. Not including me, though. It’s just that I have terrible grades, I have a terrible attitude, and I’m emo.” She showed me a scab. “See this? That’s from cutting myself.” I gagged and shook my head. “No, but those are the exact words my mom explains me with! ‘Clo is... well, just about perfect. She’s well-behaved, always has good grades, has a positive attitude... Oh, and best thing yet, she’s not emo! Haha... Ahem. She’s also a perfect Catholic, and she claims that she will remain a virgin all her life.’ ...So that means... I’m leaving. They’re taking me home...” A shiver rippled up my spine, as my teeth chattered rapidly. Jamiee laughed. “Oh come on. Why are you sad? I would have been so happy if I were you. I would have been celebrating that I could get away from that damn Brittney.” I sighed. “But... what if I never get to see you ever again?” Jamiee put her hands on my shoulders. “Clo, you are not a lesbian. I am not a lesbian. We could live without each other. Unless you were a lesbian, you would have been been rejoicing.” I laughed quietly. “...I guess you’re right. I’m just having mixed feelings. I hope we meet again, my friend.” I smiled at her, and she gave a strong smile back. We could hear footsteps getting closer from outside of the playroom. We could only conclude that it was that Jacob guy, Aimee girl, and Sally. “Quick, act normal!” Jamiee whispered loudly. We hopped up back onto our feet, and started to play jump-rope. Man, that was so awkward doing that. I could only imagine what Brittney was thinking when she saw us playing jump-rope. I ignored her expression and gave short, fake giggles. The playroom door rushed open. When I tripped over my jump-rope, I saw Sally, side by side with a beautiful woman, with long red hair that curled at the ends. She wore a casual yellow sun dress with sandals. As for the man, he wore a Led Zeppelin graphic t-shirt, along with stone-washed jeans, and black converse shoes. His hair was dark brown, like my hair, that was a little bit spiky. “This is the girl.” Sally pointed to me. “That’s Clo. She’s very friendly, and polite, and could be described in every way that you wanted your own daughter to be like! I think she’s the one for you.” Sally walked up to me, and turned me to face the couple. “Say something to the lovely couple, Clo, something appealing.” All I could stare at was the Led Zeppelin graphic t-shirt that Jacob wore. I loved Led Zeppelin so much, you can’t even imagine. Quickly, I thought up something to say to the couple. “I love Led Zeppelin!” I spat out. It was better than nothing. Jacob laughed. “Nice to meet you, too, Clo. I’m Jacob. This is my wife, Aimee.” “Good afternoon, Clo.” Aimee greeted politely. “So? What do you think?” Sally asked, anxious. Jacob made a small gesture to Aimee. “We’re taking this girl home.” Aimee replied, with positivity. I smiled, excited. But I couldn’t even imagine how it felt to be Jamiee right now. I would have been so pitiful and hurt. I looked back at Jamiee, but she was smiling, and she managed to wink at me with happiness. Sally clapped, jumping up and down. “Yayyy!” she shouted, probably just excited as me. She got the money, and I got the benefits. “Ahem... I mean. Good choice. Come with me, and we’ll fill out the forms for adopting this wonderful young girl.” I waved good-bye to Jamiee. We had been such good friends for just only three hours. I was going to miss her a lot, but I knew that if she was happy for me, that I had to be happy for myself, too. Aimee, Jacob, Sally, and I headed into the main lobby, and Sally slid behind the shining desk. There was a small clipboard, with millions of forms. “Okay... Aimee, Jacob, sign these papers. And Clo, sign this paper. Please write in print. No script, please.” Sally handed Jacob and Aimee each a piece of paper, a form to fill out, rather. She also handed me a piece of paper that I had to fill out, as well. I picked up a black ballpoint pen, starting to fill out all the easy information. After filling out every single detail there was to fill out, my form ended up looking a little bit like this: Cello Lane Adoptions: Adoptee Forms “Here you go, Sally.” I handed her my form, a little bit clueless on what Aimee’s and Jacob’s last names were. I put away the ball-point pen into a cup of other pens and pencils. I stared at Aimee’s and Jacob’s forms. They both said that their last name was Coheed. “Oh my gosh, your last name is Coheed, like Coheed and Cambria the band?” Jacob looked up and laughed. “So you’re a heavy metal and rock band fan, huh?” I nodded. “Then I bet that we’ll get along very well.” He gave me a little noogie, and I blushed. It was just like the way my dad did it. But he was my new dad now. “Alright, folks! You’re all set!” Sally announced, as soon as she read the forms that Jacob, Aimee, and I filled out. “Congratulations. Clo is your new daughter. Please have a safe trip home!” In my mind, I was jumping up and down with excitement. We walked outside of the adoption center, and onto the sidewalk. “Alright Clo, just so you get used to things, our car is that car right next to the fire hydrant across the street,” Jacob pointed to a White Mercedes siding next to a fire hydrant on the sidewalk across the road. “Oh my gosh!” I shouted. “You have a White Mercedes? I always wanted one...” Jacob and Aimee laughed. When I walked up to the street, Aimee stopped me from going any further. “Clo, where are you going? Aren’t you going to hold onto my hand? What kind of parents raised you to not hold your own parents’ hands when crossing the street? I could see why you ran away from them.” I smiled as Aimee grabbed my hand with a soft grip. She was very gentle, unlike my birth mom. She always had a strong grip. Psshhh. Man lady. We crossed the street, all holding hands. Not one car sped by. Such a peaceful neighborhood. As soon as we reached the other side of the road, I anxiously hopped into the car as Jacob held the door open for me. “Wow, thanks, Jacob.” I said, very satisfied with what great manners my new parents had. He smiled and winked at me. “You’re welcome. Also, feel free to call me dad.” I smiled so broadly. I felt so good when I heard that. I don’t know why, but my spirit just started to dance inside of my body. It felt as if my heart was smiling. ------------------- ![]() ♥ simply having a wonderful christmas time ♥

"Wow, I love it! But it could use a little more detail. Also, you shouldn't start almost every single sentence with I. It gets a little boring after awhile. It could also use a lot more adjectives and description. Well... that's all that I could find that was a flaw. Great work on the story though! Please continue!" ------------------- ![]()

I popped the buckle into my seat belt, snuggling up in the seat I was sitting in. I was so anxious to just go home to my new house. Jacob started up the car, the whole car rumbling with vibrations. Inside my mind, I was jumping up and down. “Is your seat belt on, sweetheart?” Aimee asked, looking back from her seat at me. I nodded with a bright smile. She smiled back at me. “Good, because we don’t want to go home again today without a wonderful daughter. Right, honey?” “Mhmm.” Jacob replied. I smiled and bustled about in my seat as Jacob stepped on the accelerate. He drove slowly and carefully, much more different than the way my mom and dad used to drive like. And they used to always fight with each other on almost every drive we take. I took in a deep breath, and took it out with my nose. As the car swiftly rolled around town, I watched as the scenery changed every minute or so outside the window. The sun shone down on the trees’ leaves, same with all the rivers we passed. After watching the scenery change, I became so bored. How long was this ride going to take? I may be a perfect Catholic and a virgin, but I’m definitely not the most patient girl in the world. I became practically desperate to make a conversation. “So... um... where do you guys live?” I asked. Aimee looked at me through the reflection of the rear view, smiling. “You’ll have to just wait and see.” I yawned. I hated waiting. I guess I finally found something that we’re not going to get along with easily. “So how much longer away are we from your house, then?” “Approximately thirty more minutes.” Aimee replied. “But it’s worth the trip in the end.” I looked at Aimee, but she didn’t look back. I also looked at Jacob, but he kept both eyes on the road. Were they really who they say that they are? They sound like great people, but what if they end up being even worse than my birth parents? The thoughts rotated through my mind. I shook my head. I guess it’s better to go with my first thought, and leave it at that. That’s what my birth mom used to say. And she always ended up being right. “Do you guys, like, live in some other state or something?” I asked. Aimee laughed. “Wow, looks like someone’s very curious all of a sudden. What’s with the sudden questions?” She finally looked back at me. Our eyes finally met. Her eyes were a beautiful hazel color, with a wonderful glimmering shine. My eyes were an ugly shade of brown. I felt so jealous for a minute, which didn’t happen often. I shook my head. “I just felt the sudden urge to know the answers to my questions.” I smiled. Aimee smiled back. “If you’re a little tired and bored, you can take a nap. I don’t mind if you snore or anything. I’m used to it already. I mean, the man I sleep next to every single night does it every night, and it keeps me wide awake.” I giggled softly, like I was a little girl again. The way I used to laugh when I was younger... I was happy then. And I was happy now. But I never giggled like I did when I was younger when my birth parents started to become so much more different. But now, I can be me again. “T-Thanks... mom...” I stuttered. Aimee smiled at me. “You’re welcome, sweetheart.” She finally looked away, and stared straight at the road. I smiled and closed my eyes, falling asleep. ------------------- ![]() ♥ simply having a wonderful christmas time ♥

re: Contemplation || [[12+ || Story]] |
My eyes were wide open. I was wide awake. I could hear shouts and screams, and curses being yelled from downstairs. To myself, I whimpered with tears. My daddy and my mommy were fighting again. They couldn’t go a day without yelling at each other about something. I rubbed the sleepiness out from my eyes, and quietly trotted downstairs, trying not to make a sound. If they heard me, I know that they’d pull me into their fight. “Cedrick!” my mommy shouted. “Shut up already!” I stared with disappointment at my mother from on the staircase. This wasn’t the mommy I knew. This wasn’t the mommy that raised me. This wasn’t the mommy who took me in when I had to cry on a shoulder. “Kathleen, be quiet, you!” my daddy shouted back. My tears reached my polka-dotted sleeping gown, which also had sheep on it, too. I wiped away the tears. “You’re going to wake up Clo!” “Who cares about that child! She’s a useless child. Go take her already and leave this house immediately!” Daddy clenched his fists and gritted his teeth. “Kathleen... I swear...” He shook his head. “This is my house, Kathleen. I’m the one who pays the bills. I’m the one who has a job. I’m the one who paid for the house when we first bought it.” He glared at mommy. “There’s no way you can force me to leave my own house.” “SHUT UP!” Mommy smacked daddy to the ground. Blood gushed from his mouth, and he looked just about lifeless. “This has nothing to do with paying bills, or anything, darn it! I just want you to get out of here now... To make my life easier. I don’t want to go home and get a headache from seeing your dumb and clueless face. I hate it. I hate hating life.” She grinned with cruelty and took out a knife. “And this is all because of you. ...So you will pay the consequences.” She sliced daddy’s neck, his head and body now disconnected from each other. Blood splatters splashed everywhere, and blood gushed all around daddy’s body. I watched with horror as my mommy laughed. Loudly, and with so much pain inside, I cried, face buried in hands. I sniffled between cries. What was a five-year old little girl supposed to react when she saw her own daddy die in front of her own two eyes? Loud steps came closer. And closer. And closer. When I looked back up, I could see my mommy’s evil grin as she held the knife in her hand. She laughed, cruelly. “You’re going with your evil father, as well!” she shouted. “AAHHHHH!!” I yelled. My scream was so loud and piercing, I even bet that the neighbors heard me. My eyes were all dried out and red. I was tired of crying. “D-Daddy!” I screeched. “I-I’m scared! I-I--” Before I could even finish my sentence, I was cut off by my early death. The knife seeped so deeply into my skin, it pierced my heart. My mommy aimed it at my chest, more specifically at the area of my heart. I was done for. My life was gone. And so was my daddy’s. - - - I breathed heavily. My sweat reached my neck, and trickled its way down to my rainbow socks. I gulped. “C-Clo! Are you okay, sweetheart?” her voice resounded inside my ear. My teeth chattered from fright. What-what if it was her...? Mommy...? No, no, it couldn’t be. She’s off in jail now. It was only a nightmare... “Clo...?” I opened my eyes to see her beautiful hazel eyes. It was only Aimee. Relieved, I gave her a tight hug. “Clo, are you okay? You were talking in your sleep, you know. You sounded a little scared...” I shook my head. “A-Aimee... I was more than scared... It was the scariest moment of my life...” I cried on her shoulder, still holding onto her. “I-I had a nightmare... I dreamt that-that I was five again, and-and that... that...” She rubbed my back. “Clo, slow down a bit.” she said, with her soft voice. I shook my head again, but this time, with a more relieved gesture. “I-I’m fine, Aimee...” I said, reassuringly, to her. I smiled, wet tears still trickling down my damp cheeks. “I’m just happy that you decided to take me in as your own daughter, and-and that... you became my new mommy...” Aimee smiled back at me. “I’m happy that I did, too.” We pulled away from our comfortable hug. “Now, let’s go see your new house!” I jumped up from my seat with excitement and followed Aimee out of the Mercedes. When we got outside, a farm was ahead. My jaw dropped. We were going to live on a farm? I always wanted to work on a farm. When I was younger, I used to love to visit my Uncle Sander’s farm. There were so many barn animals and crops. I loved to water them with my own mini watering can. I enjoyed it a lot, and I knew I was going to enjoy my new life here, too. There was also a barn nearby, and a factory with a ton of trucks outside of it. The best part was, I spotted a villa. A big, big villa. It was nice and fancy, with a fountain in front. Aimee let out a big sigh. “So, this is my house. Or, my ranch, preferably. Sunny Ranch. We raise tons of livestock, and raise various crops. Wanna go take a look?” I gave a positive nod, and ran ahead. Where was I to look first? The best thing I loved about going to my Uncle Sander’s was grooming and tending the livestock. With that, I ran in the direction of the barn. It had to at least fit two dozens of barn animals. It was almost as large as the factories and the villa with the fountain in front of it. When I reached the barn, a small chicken coop was there next to it, with a pasture of grass, probably for the livestock to graze in. I knew that I loved petting the chickens the best at my Uncle Sander’s, so I entered the chicken coop. “Ah!” I screamed, jumping off my feet. I giggled softly, when I realized that my shock was caused by a simple chicken just saying hello to me. “Oh, hello, baby!” “Ba-cock!” it screeched. I petted it softly, and picked it up. It didn’t seem to mind that a stranger was holding it, so I stroked it with care. You may think I’m strange for actually enjoying this. Not many girls like being by barn animals. They’d probably “ew!!!” “yucky!!!” “gross!!!!” and all that stuff. But I love animals. I guess you could say that I’m a nature freak. I felt a small nudge, and when I looked back, I saw that it was only Jacob, opening the door. He smiled. “I see that you’ve met Omelet already. That’s our star chicken. She produces all the best quality eggs. She’s very friendly around humans, and enjoys being petted. Here, you want to feed her?” Jacob gave me some chicken feed. “This is what chickens eat.” I nodded. “Mhmm. It’s chicken feed. And livestock, like cows and sheep, eat fodder instead.” I said, sounding like a show-off. Jacob smiled, probably very impressed. “I’m definitely impressed, Clo. Have you ever been to a ranch before?” he asked. I began to let Omelet munch on her feed. “Of course. When I was younger, I used to go to my Uncle Sander’s ranch. He also owned a farm, just like you and Aimee. And I used to go there every week, so I learned a lot. I guess you can say that I’m an expert.” Jacob laughed. “Well, Miss Expert, to me, that’s great news! I need some help around the barn and the coop, because Aimee doesn’t know much about barn animals, so she’s just in charge of the farming. She loves planting; she’s been planting flowers and vegetables since she was a little girl, she told me. And I’ve been on a barn since I was a little boy. So I guess our pasts came in handy, huh?” I laughed and nodded. Jacob smiled. “Why don’t I tell you all of their names?” I smiled. “I’d be more than happy if you introduce them to me.” He guided me around the chicken coop, introducing each and every chicken and hen to me, and he did the same with the barn animals. He was impressed once I learned all of their names in a flash. I decided to go and visit Aimee in the fields, and see how her crops were. Jacob saluted me and started to feed the animals. When I got to the fields that were filled with growing crops, I looked with amazement. Various summer crops such as tomatoes, corn, eggplant, and others were already sprouted. They were ready to be harvested. Their tilled soil was nice and damp, like how they should always be if they’re not dry. “Hey Aimee!” I shouted with glee, waving at her. She flinched and looked up. She was holding her hoe, tilling some more soil at the other end of the fields. She dropped her tool and waved at me. Aimee was already changed into overalls, a sun hat, and some sandals. “Oh, hello, Clo!” she shouted back. “Sorry, did I scare you?” I asked with a friendly smile. She laughed and shook her head. “Okay, good.” My eyes wandered off from Aimee and towards the crops. Some of them looked as if they were about to just to die and dry out. I bit my lip and grabbed a watering can. I quickly sprinkled some water onto the dying plants, and felt relieved as I saved them. “Sorry, they were just...” Aimee shook her head. “It’s fine. Listen, I’m sorry to be a bother and all, but can you help me till the soil while I water all of the crops?” I smiled and nodded. “I’d be more than glad to help you out, Aimee!” I replied with a positive attitude. Slowly, I walked along the fields, feeling a little lost as I walked into the cornstalk section. Once I reached Aimee, I picked up her hoe and starting tilling soil. “Should I make them a little apart from each other, or just do whatever?” “Do whatever you feel is right, hon,” she said, wandering off in the cornstalks. “I trust you with my whole garden!” I nodded, planning out all of the tilling inside my head. I started to smash the soil with the hoe, as the word to explain this action is tilling. The soil splashed very few times onto my Ed Hardy’s high tops, but I didn’t really mind. I could always wash them later. After working for only a couple of minutes in the fields, I was sweating like crazy. With my forearm, I wiped my sweaty fore-head. I took a deep breath and dropped to the ground. As I looked up, the sun was shining brightly as always, right onto the crops. I closed my eyes for a second, and dozed off. Everything was perfect... My new life was the life I’ve been always dreaming of. Living on a ranch, inside a villa, with the perfect parents with just about the best last name ever... Three words. Life is good.
