A little bit is OK, but if you're poem is like *bleep* this, *bleep* that every other word, that's likely a bit too much. The rules just say stories can't contain "heavy sexual content or swearing", so take that to mean don't be like late-night stand-up comedy that swears into oblivion, but still you can do a little bit as long as it's not in bad taste.

Haha funny you say that, I actually do stand up comdey as well with a lot of swearing. I assure you though my poetry does not contain much, if any really bad words. It's more the way they are used that might upset some people.

Yeah, that's what I was trying to get at in a ways-I know that my stories do have a bit of swearing & profanity in them but I try not to overdo it (even though I rate it 16+ anyway) because then it even bothers me a little bit when I go back and look it over when editing it. So I just try to have a character be like "Oh *bleep*!" when they mess up rather than be like "Well *bleep* you then!" towards someone else, then it's more tolerable.

Hello all. Does anyone know if "birds of a feather" is an expression? I thought it meant the same as "peas in a pod", as in "they're as identical as peads in a pod/birds of a feather".

Yep, the phrase is "Birds of a feather flock together." It basically means the same as "peas in a pod."

About the only thing competition-wise is that Featured Writer thing they sometimes have. I know in the Role Playing Forum there's a sub-forum called Neo-Duelist League, which I believe is related to writing (not card games like Yu-Gi-Oh TCG, which probably come to mind first until you take a closer look), but I'm not too familiar with it right now.

The Neo-Duelist League is a fantastic place for prose-writers to butt heads and compare skills. For details, talk to Zetram; he's the mod around there. We've got some great talent there. I recommend it to any aspiring writer who wants to test him or herself, or anyone who just wants to generate ideas by interactive experiences.
