re: Le Bleu Café : A Writers' Gathering Place

I've written one novel so far and my only problem is that the ending sucks and that while editing it I started to rewrite what was already written.

A muse, if memory recalls correctly, is a Greek Godess of inspiration. For most true artists(Be it musical, with words or with images) a muse is a source of inspiration, a type of feeling you just get when you just HAVE to write/draw/sing etc.

Piece of advice, endings ALLWAYS suck. Specially if the story itself was really really good. Its like when you've got a plate/bowl/w/e you hold food in) of your favorite dish ever, do you want it to be gone? Of course not, you relish every moment, and as you near the end, you begin to feel anger at it, and so an ending becomes the hardest part to properly write >_<.

Ps. if my posts make any coherent sense to you, congrats >_<

Not true. A lot of the times I get killer ideas and have great beginings, flawless endings, but just no depth to build around the filler. And a lot of the "good" endings I can create only work with a long and constructing plot, which a lot of the times I can't seem to keep at a level equal to the first and final segments.

re: Le Bleu Café : A Writers' Gathering Place

I have written a book, about a world were there is a war between people and robots thats been going on for 200 years, and I showed my teached and she said it was pretty good and was surprised I actually wrote a book, I am 15.

Everytime I go to look at it, I always end up changing something or adding stuff, which I think is a good thing. I added like 3 more chapters than what my teacher had wrote. I actually want to get this published, anyone have any tips? Or if u want to know more about this, just ask me. lol

re: Le Bleu Café : A Writers' Gathering Place

Oka. Well first... HI Everyone! On to business now.
I am really young, but I want to write a book. (If Chris Paolini can, so can I!) I want to write a fantasy book. I have characters that I like and know fairly well. My problem is I cannot decide on the setting. The size of the city where it akes place seems to change daily. Also, I'm a little lost on what to do with the plot, because It's not a quest story I'm scared it will seem boring. I just can't seem to get a few concrete details in my head. Any help? You can PM me if you want. I think my Muse needs a rude wake-up call!

re: Le Bleu Café : A Writers' Gathering Place

I've just finished my first book in the writer's lounge. It isn't very long but...*shrugs*.
Anyways, I'm going to make a new trilogy. How do I set about making a second in the trilogy as for me it seems awkward...

Well, it depends what plot your planning, look back to the beginning and think of how you started that. Try starting it like that again maybe like:
At dawn two figures walked out, onto the horison etc etc.

re: Le Bleu Café : A Writers' Gathering Place

This is the ending of my lastest chapter for A Bittersweet World.

quote Asycath
She stepped out into the storm and watched as lightning forked its tounge over the skies. She smiled, a cruel, unloving smile.
Then she noticed something in the distance, it looked like a animal, pottering around..A mansion?

Meanwhile, in the real world, it was stormy. A boy sat, playing his own DS. As he tapped away on the screen he suddenly felt dizzy, and the whole world seemed to slow down before going black.
He awoke on something hard, and looked around. It looked just like his ac:ww Mansion! But the boy smiled, it was going so perfectly to plan....
I need help with the next chap. Help? I would tell you what my plans are but it would be A MASSIVE SPOILAR! lol

re: Le Bleu Café : A Writers' Gathering Place

Asycath, I think your story is going great so far, and you just need to keep doing what you've been doing all along. I know it's your choice, but I feel that any outside help may end up taking away from the whole feel and flow of the story. Every writer has their own style, and bringing in another writer could potentially disrupt the style in which your story has been written so far. Could you imagine if Samuel Beckett wrote the latter half of The Great Gatsby? But if you can make it work in the end, then don't hesitate for help.
