It depends on your situation. If you don't have a GC controller or two laying around, I would definitely pick one up, if you want to download any VC games beyond NES. Also, several Wii games, particularly fighters like Smash Bros. Brawl, support the VC controller.

However, if you have a GC controller, I would just stick with that.

I think you should. Several SNES games are nearly unplayable with the GCN controller.

I honestly believe it is worth it. Eventually if there are a lot of games you like on the VC you will have a lot of them. And as TP said a lot of SNES games play absolutely horribly on the GC controller one that comes to mind is Super Mario World. So really for $20USD the VC controller is more than worth it.

If you plan to buy SNES games, definitely. It works great for nearly every game on any system, but the other systems have other options that work well enough. However, there is no other decent option for SNES games, as some are virtually unplayable without the Classic controller. It's quite a good controller, too. It feels great and the D-pad is the best we've had in quite a long time.

If oyu enjoy the NES games and certain Wii games then it would make things a lot easier for you... and probably more enjoyable.

Considering as how it's only $20, yes, it is worth it. Depending on how often you play VC games, that is. I play them a lot, so it was well worth the $20. It makes them more enjoyable, plus it's a lot easier to use then tilting the Wii on it's side, digging out my GCN controller, and stuff like that. Especially if you want to quickly play it for a few minutes, or whatever.

No, it's formatted to the Wiimote like the nunchuck [as said before me]... but yeah I'd pick it up if I were you.

rly???
How long is the cord connecting the two controllers?
I'm either gonna get the controler, more Wii points, or start saving up for super mario galaxy.
I'm leaning towards the controller right now though.

If you plan on buying SNES games, than you will need the classic controller, plain and simple. Even if you have a gc controller, its damn near unplayble for SNES games. The wire from the classic controller and the wiimote is as long enough for you to put the wiimote in your pocket and play comfortably with the classic controller.

It's good for the SNES games. I'm using the Wavebird and it's a pain in the ass since the buttons aren't configured like the SNES, but its not too much of an issue for me..
