Ninty's Big Hitters [That are out in the UK, not future releases]?
|
Hai. I just bought a Wii with Red Steel (£209.98).
Should be arriving Friday.
What games do you recommend I buy/rent?
I amn't someone who plays a game through multiple times a lot so most'll be rents, but if a game is good enough I'll happily go through it again.
edit: Every time I read the title I keep thinking it says Ninty's Big Hitlers.

How can you say Brawl is worth buying when you've not played it?

oh I hope you realize what you've done getting Red Steel with it Yeah, the only option I had was to get a Wii and Red Steel. They're kinda in demand right now. I was all like "WTF? In stock? Gie me that!"
Anyway, the games I was probably going to get were Galaxy, RE:UC, and Zelda looks like that's how it'll continue.

Nah, it's just me being pissy. It gets on my tits when people say a game is good or bad when they haven't played it.

Super Mario Galaxy - Obvious choice. The best game on the console and the second highest rated game ever.
Metroid Prime 3 - If you enjoyed any of the earlier Metroid games, this is an incredible first-person adventure game with a heavy emphasis on exploration and puzzles, with some shooting mixed in for good measure.
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess - Sure, it's a Gamecube game, but who cares? It's long, it's fun and it's a worthy successor to Ocarina of Time.
Zack and Wiki: Quest for Barbaros' Treasure - It may look like a simple children's game, but hidden beneath the innocent look is an intellegent, complex, difficult and very fun puzzle game that makes great use of the Wii remote. Highest rated third-party exclusive on the Wii.
Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition - The definitive version of Resident Evil 4. It looks as good the prettier Gamecube version, has the extra content of the meatier PS2 version and has added Wii controls. It's only $30 and RE4 is considered among the best games of all time.
Medal of Honor Heroes 2 - Yes, it's another WWII shooter, but it's surprisingly fun. It's the best-controlling FPS on any console, it has 32-player online multiplayer (without friend codes) and it's just plain fun to play.
The Godfather: Blackhand Edition - It is a port, but it's a damn fun one. It has great controls much like Wii Sports Boxing, it has added content and is priced at $30. It's no GTA killer, but it's still a great game.
Just some games to consider. There are some other great games, too. The first five are all must-haves for a Wii owner, the other two are some games to consider. I'd also look into Super Paper Mario and Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3.

Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 Fixed.
You lost my respect for not putting Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Gogetenks.
Its a guaranteed buy for all Nintendo Wii owners, when it comes out.

Thank you, my Wii has been collecting dust because I've beaten zelda several times, and had no idea what other good games are out there. I will definately give medal of honor a try. Maybe rent it first, seeing as I am down to no money.

Thanks Gogetenks. I just did my rental list before viewing your post. Got RE:UC and SMG as top priorities. And I'll add most of the games you've recommended that I don't already have.
I've never owned a Nintendo console before btw. I went MegaDrive > PSone > Xbox (then PS2) > 360 (and now Wii). So VC and Gamecube game recommendations are welcome.
