hi i got a wii for christmas and pluged it all in and turned it on and nothing is coming up on the screen there is no menu ? do you have any idea many thanks can you leave a message or pm me thanks

Can only suggest the obvious really:

Check TV is on correct channel (depending on if you use scart/hdmi lead etc.)

What colour is the light on the power button?

Try inserting a disc to turn the Wii on.

tv is on correct channel the light is green when turned on and the screen is grey once the wii is turned on ?

Check that all wires are fully inserted.
Can you get any sound?
Is the Wiimote on with a blue light at the bottom?

Press A on the Wiimote to turn it on.

Go through all the other channels on your tv just to double check it's not on there.

To rule out the tv set have you got access to another tv that you can hook it up to?

What kind of connection are you using, scart or component cable?

When you insert the disc can you hear it spinning up inside the Wii?

scart and you can hear the disc spinning and got the light on the wii controler but there is blue lights flashing ?

Personally, it sounds like the scart cable is at fault especially as you can hear the disc spinning up and you have tried hooking up the Wii to another tv.

I am using the component cable setup for my tv so I have the original scart lead that came with the Wii just laying around doing nothing. It definately works as I was using it for a while before getting the component cable and I would be happy to give it to you. The only other option is to return it to the store it was purchased from and get them to replace it. With Wii stock still on a low you may be waiting for a while though. Let me know mate
