I get to the part where I talk to the guy with link but... It always screws up...

I keep trying and trying, but when I run through the numbers I get 'Exception 0300' and it freezes up >_>

Any help? Ovan/GirugaMarc is trying to help me... But not making much progress...
This is exactly what has happened to me. I bought the legend of zelda game today and spent all day trying to get homebrew installed... I finally got it so when I go to the legend of zelda game and the go talk to the guy right in front of me and then the screen goes black and the white words come up and say all that stuff etc etc, It came up with the thing that said how to accept and cancel and I accepted everything it said and the last one came up to install the homebrew channel and I accepted it but it said installation of homebrew failed. I believe its because my wii is updated as high as it can and the stuff im trying to use to install the homebrew is too old and I need a newer version or something?? im lost and really want to download homebrew. if anyone can help me I would greatly appeciate it.

re: Homebrew Guide and Discussion

I would try running a special homebrew updater that updates your Wii without destroying most of the homebrew capabilities. Look here (specifically here).

re: Homebrew Guide and Discussion

A friend of mine is wanting to install homebrew on his Wii, but the problem is, he has version 4.0. When we looked for a way to downgrade his Wii, the only ways we could find needed to have the homebrew channel first, which he can't get as there isn't a 4.0 compatible version yet. Is there any way to downgrade his wii without already having homebrew? If so, how would I do this or where could I find out how?

Nope, sorry, as far as I know, a workaround has not been discovered.

A word of advice: don't upgrade to 4.0 unless you are prepared!

re: Homebrew Guide and Discussion

Actually there is a new way to install the HBC without the Twilight Hack since it was fixed with 4.0
This new method is called the banner bomb. I haven't tried it since I've had HBC on my Wii for a long time now. Here is a link to a site I found where someone explains how to install it using this method. I don't know how easy it is or anything like that so just try it out for yourself and tell me how it is.

EDIT: Also found this. It's a guide posted by someone for the HBC. Hope these links help you out.

re: Homebrew Guide and Discussion

I can't get DVDx installer working, all I get is this

Error -2011 installing DVD Stub ticket
and
Error -2011 installing stub

I am on 4.0 and successfully installed homebrew with the bannerbomb hack and got other applications working, but this is the only one that I can't get working.

I've searched everywhere even wiibrew but no info.

I don't know which installer is used in the one you can download from the Homebrew Browser, but you might be better off using the installer that has HBC+DVDX+BootMii.

re: Homebrew Guide and Discussion

I don't know where to put that installer in my sd card.

Do i put it in the apps folder or on the root of the SD card?

And I keep searching and all I see is that I don't need the ticket stub unless I'm a developer.

But I'm not a developer and the installer keeps reffering to the ticket stub!
