Component Cables

I'm just wondering if the component cables for the Wii that supposedly up the quality on an HDTV will also increase quality on a Standard Television?

re: Component Cables

No, because you can't plug component cables into a standard TV.

re: Component Cables

Are you sure? I'm pretty sure I have some component slots in the back of this TV (it is a standard quality TV but it has plenty of different outputs in the back, as it uses different Video Channels (Video 1, Video 2, Video 3, Video 4, and Cable)). I believe theres output section for Component Cables.

Anyways, assuming they can plug into the back of my Standard TV, will it increase quality? or does it ONLY increase quality on a HDTV?

P.S: I am using the product at Gamestop that is commponent cables for PS3, Xbox360, and Wii all in one package.

re: Component Cables

If there is an area where you can input a component cable there should be a grouping of 5 ports to input the component cables. You can see what I'm talking about by looking here: http://www.p4c.philips.com/files/2/26pf5321f_10/26pf5321f_10_cow_.jpg Under "component" there is a grouping of 5 inputs.

Also, I just posted this in another topic but it will be helpful to you:

I bought my knockoff Wii component for a few dollars (as opposed to Nintendo's $30 ones) after seeing herethat the cheap ones work just as well as the higher-end ones.
