The more obscure, the better, I say. My favorite trophies in Smash Bros. are for the characters I had never heard of, to be honest, so a game featuring as many zany, unknown Nintendo gems is awesome in my book.

Captain Rainbow?

I'm with you on that.

Here's the new IP Sakurai wanted; Captain Rainbow for SSB4! This is kinda like SSB since it involves a bunch of Nintendo cameos, except it's cameos that were even too obscure to be stickers in Brawl-the guy from NES Golf anyone?

From the brief trailer and screenshots its not really clear what the gameplay will be like, but there will be some sort of fighting system, accompanied with comic book-esque exclamations of "BAAAAAMMM," "SSSSMMAAAACK," or "BBOOOOOMMM." As bbb said, it kind of has a Viewtiful Joe vibe to it, which is definitely a good thing!

I hope we see something related to this at E3. It would be spectacular.

The game has been getting weekly updates on the Japanese Nintendo Channel.

Is that fat guy Little Mac? There's also a Piranha Plant at 1:15 in the first video so that's probably the most recognizable character so far. Who is that samurai guy? I do have to say, the theme song is quite catchy!

August 28? That's pretty fast considering it was only announced about a month ago. Then again, this is Japan. There is no way Nintendo is gonna localize this. This looks more niche than Quendan and more obscure than Freshly Picked: Tingle's Rosie Ruppeland. But we can hope!

Ah, another character never seen outside of Japan. I checked and they did have music from his game and stickers based on its artwork in Brawl though.

Nintendo's new philosophy: only announce/hype up games at the very most 2-3 months in advance.

Besides, Ouendan got localized in the form of EBA, and Tingle DS made it out in Europe.

Nazo no Murasamejou looks pretty cool. It would be a great VC import game.

Alright fine: Quendan 2. But Tingle never went to the U.S. and if Captain Rainbow followed suit and came out in Europe but not the U.S., I would still not be able to play it.
