Always Read Disc Option |
|
I'm sure this has been asked numerous times, but it's starting to bother me. My question is, is there a way to make the Wii just play games instantly(read discs) instead of going through the Wii Settings menu? It really is a pain having to click through all that shit (all 2 buttons) just to play a game. Thanks

In my opinion, that would be a great annoyance of a feature. Clicking the game window and then 'Start' is nothing. Plus, a lot of the time I check out the channels and such.

Having the option would be nice though.

quote GuugleyIt's a pain when you have five systems hooked up and need to get out a damn wiimote just to align it with a sensor bar only to click on a few windows just to play a game. It's a royal pain after a while.

I understand, it was a big pain in brawl (the Wiimote is still on so it still uses batteries) when I was using the GCN controller.
But no, it would be nice option to have via firmware. ------------------- quote Me

I find that to be a very good idea actually. Mostly for games like Brawl, Mario Kart, and Guitar Hero III/Rockband (where you use the Gamecube or Guitar controller). Also, it would be much more useful in general simply because you wouldn't have to stand there and click across the screen a few times just to get to the title screen where you must aim and click a few more times to load your file or start the game
I guess I'm just lazy, but it would be a fine feature to add. You could still access the Wii Menu (to turn it off or just view channels) by using the Wii mote and clicking the home button at any time during the game. I really don't see how it would be annoying (that is, unless you ALWAYS use channels). ------------------- Read my blog on a very pressing matter if you want to live...Reading it yet? Now...? So do I.
Well, only my downloaded VC/WiiWare games, but still. It would be useful mainly when you play Brawl or Mario Kart or something that uses the GCN controller. Speaking of which, ESPECIALLY Gamecube games. I was recently playing Kirby Air Ride on my Wii (am I the only soul who loves that game), and I had to go through the channels and stuff, which was annoying, but the REAL pain is the Wiimote is still on, which wastes batteries. ------------------- quote Me

And on top of that, theres no option in the wii menu that lets you turn off the wii remote.

The DS has this. Why don't Wii?

Maybe instead of having to click "start" you could just press A and if you want to go back to the menu you could press B.
That could work. ------------------- ![]() Holy crap! His tail is on the wrong side of his body!

Or, what I really want them to do is to make GC controllers work on the Wii menu.
You can already use the seemingly worthless control stick on the GH III guitars to get through the menu, but I hate having to switch between Wii Remote and Gamecube controllers. ------------------- Onocron ![]()
