Gamecube Memory Card in Wii |
|
Okay. So about two hours ago, I go to start a new game in Baten Kaitos, and all of a sudden the data is corrupted so I had to start a new game. I was mad, but I got over it quick. Then, ten minutes ago I go back to play Baten Kaitos (the new file I started two hours ago) and the data is corrupted again. So I tried my the memory card on all of my games and it turns out none of my files were corrupted except both Baten Kaitos and Baten Kaitos Origins. So now my question. Was it the Wii, the GC Memory Card, or the Baten Kaitos discs, and how can I prevent this from happening again - because I'm pissed.

How are you saving? Do you make sure you don't mess with the console (like shutting it off) or the memory card while it says "Saving"? That's the easiest way to corrupt data.
Lets find out what it is... Wii? Well, as long as your Wii games (not Gamecube) games save with no problems and no corrupts, than it's not the Wii. Gamecube Memory Card? I suggest you go through each of your games and SAVE somewhere in game and then check if it's corrupted, instead of just looking at previous data. For instance, it could be that something in your Wii or Memory card is corrupting data as soon as it saves, not corrupting data that has already been saved a while ago. Other than that, I'm guessing it's not the Memory Card. Baten Kaitos? Well, I have no doubt it's the game itself, but this would be the first time I've heard of a disc causing corrupted data. Most likely the Wii or the Memory Card, so check to see if your Wii files get corrupted immediately AFTER saving them. Also, go into your other games and save and then immediately AFTER saving them, check to see if they are corrupted. This way, you'll find out if it's the Wii or card. ------------------- Read my blog on a very pressing matter if you want to live...Reading it yet? Now...? NOW?!

Your memory card is busted. The same thing happened to my save battery in my Pokemon Crystal cartridge. Call Nintendo or buy a new one.
quote MikstaslayaThat would end up in all his data getting corrupted. Not a good idea. ------------------- ![]() Lastest comic: Andrew GIF (Murray)

this used to happen to me with this one memory card I had. I would just move the stuff in the corrupted MC and usually there was an option to reformat the Memory Card which would delte everything but would uncorrupt it. I don't know if this was possible for you though. <__>;

quote MikstaslayaI did check every data on my Memory Card, and they're all fine. The only files that aren't fine are the Baten Kaitos and Baten Kaitos Origins files, and I can't start a new game because each data that I create continues to get corrupted.

Wow that's lame. After a few days all my data is corrupted, so I deleted it all, put in an older memory card and everything works fine. Apparently if my Wii gets too hot then it will corrupt data on a 1019 GC Memory Card. Of all the memory cards to have..... Anyway, thanks for the help
