re: Wii Sports Resort: The Official Thread of Kicking it Back on Wuhu Island |

Just picked up this title today and was actually very impressed! My favorites are definitely Swordplay, Archery, Basketball, Table Tennis, Bowling, and Air Sports. Golf used to be a favorite of mine back in Wii Sports, but they made it too complicated and sensitive this time around. I'm sure once I get the hang of it, I'll like it a little more.
Haven't played much of Frisbee, Wakeboarding, Power Cruising, Canoeing, or Cycling yet, so I can't really judge them. Overall, there is ALOT more to do in this game than the original Wii Sports. I especially love the Stamp system and all the rankings and leaderboards. Theres really alot packed into this game, and it all looks very nice as well. The island looks amazing, especially when you go skydiving/flying. Oh, and did I mention how addicting swordplay is? Simply amazing. So accurate and fun. I <3 Wii Sports Resort. -------------------

quote Dragon ZERODear God no. I hope that was sarcasm. I really hope they don't let this island leak into other franchises. And I really hope they don't try to reuse this locale for things like adventure games or a Mii RPG as interview hints. That would be a total waste of time. Half the fun of adventure or RPG games is seeing new surroundings and experiencing new worlds. -------------------

quote TwilightPrinceOffline right? Cause' I found no online leaderboards. quote therealNgamer.....No, maybe you were interpreting wrong? I don't want a Zelda game at Wuhu Island, I want a Wuhu Island area in a Zelda game. Like imagine in TP, at Ordon Village there was a stone that teleported you to Wuhu island. It would be like a giant Zelda mini-game compilation land. You could go there to break up gameplay, win rewards for main quest, etc. I think it would be fun. ------------------- quote SeaNanners

I wish there was a hiking game to WSR. I really want to check out those ruins with more than a quick flyby!

Alright, that's not as bad. But Wuhu Island should stay out of Zelda. It doesn't fit with the series...at all. There's nothing wrong with having the mini games in Zelda dispersed to reside in their natural environments; we don't need Wuhu Island shoehorned onto Zelda just for the hell of it.

Anybody else play Frisbee Golf yet? What a great combination of sports.
I just wish I knew how to accurately throw a frisbee. -------------------

quote TwilightPrince Yeah, I love it. So addicting. Also, I've gotten the hang of basketball, and it's pretty fun. Definitely not terrible, like I originally thought. -------------------

The wait for this game wasn't nearly as long as I thought it would be. I can't wait to see how it plays out.

After playing the Island Flyover a trillion times,
I thought that they should've made it so your Mii could walk around the island and go to different places to play the sports. It would be cool, but the game is still awesome. -------------------

My sister will be buying it soon for us (we have to share our games). She's still got her birthday coming along, so she's getting money in august.

Wii Sports Resort Golf has additional courses along side the three originals, as well as a new control scheme that allows you to add fade and draw by twisting your wrist, thanks to Wii MotionPlus. This makes the game more challenging to control, but ultimately more rewarding as you have far better control over your swing.

It suprised me that everyone put down Basketball!
When I first bought it I played Basketball right away and it was so easy and fun. The Island Flyover is my favorite though. I played it like all night! -------------------
