What am I missing? |
|
Over the last few months my preference of gaming has rapidly left my 360 in the dust, my Playstation 3 swapped for £250 and my Wii with growing interest. But my Wii has been neglected. I'm basically asking you guys for whatever gems I've missed out on, and I'll greatly appreciate all replies. I'm looking for anything that can be played on the console, though primarily Wii titles, but including any noticable Gamecube buys, Virtual Console or WiiWare purchases.
I currently have Super Smash Bros Brawl, Super Mario Galaxy, Red Steel, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Metroid Prime 3, Mario Kart Wii, House of the Dead: Overkill, Madworld and No More Heroes. On Gamecube I have all the obvious titles including Metroid Prime 1 and 2, Double Dash, F-Zero, Sunshine, Luigi's Mansion, Melee, Starfox Adventures, Pikmin, the Resident Evils and Viewtiful Joe. Top of my list to currently buy are Super Paper Mario, Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door and Okami. Thanks for anything + everything; I'm a man of wide taste so just fire what's on your mind. I believe there might already be a 'What Game to Buy Next?' thread, so I hope this is excusable for the sake it's about bulk purchases. Sorry if that's wrong! I don't have many Wii games but one that stood out for me was the Fire Emblem game. If you're into SRPGs then you'll probably find it a good game.
You could always go back and buy the old N64 Zelda games. I hear they're awesome but haven't played them yet. ------------------- Twilight in a nutshell: The story of a young woman's choice to practice either bestiality or necrophilia.

quote Hell FireDo I need the other Fire Emblems to enjoy this one? That's a good idea; I'm a big RPG fan. Thanks. And I've got all the Zeldas out, forgot to say. Including the Gamecube collector's thing -- not a big fan in all honestly. Only Zelda I really like is A Link to the Past. jkcheese -- Thanks for all your suggestions for upcoming AAA games, and of games already out I'm most interested in the Sonic ones (I heard they turned a leaf -- can anyone confirm?) as well as Trauma Center games, Atlus are cool. They're hard to find though. I heard The Conduit wasn't as good as was hoped? Already have the Zeldas as well as Super Mario Bros 3. Kirby's NES title and Super Mario RPG are titles I'm very much wanting, thanks. -------------------

The Wii Fire Emblem is a direct sequel to the Gamecube one. The game does a decent job of filling in the gaps, but you would enjoy it much more after playing the original. Most Fire Emblem games as stand alone, however.
The Conduit was a victim of overhype. It is a fine game, but people were expecting it to be God's gift to Wii gaming, which it isn't. Some games I would recommend checking out are Muramasa the Demon Blade, Little King's Story, Wii Sports Resort, Tenchu Shadow Assasians, Warioland Shake it!, de Blob, and Okami. -------------------

Pretty much sick of Call of Duty at this point, and have no intention of fuelling Activision Blizzard any moreso. Thanks for the suggestion though. bbb7002004 I've just noticed the Wii Fire Emblem is super cheap, I'll probably pick that up. I'd love to get the Gamecube one too but it's very expensive for some reason. That's really annoying, I guess I'll have to make do. Wii Sports Resort I have played pretty thoroughly elsewhere and I'm afraid I probably won't do much with it past that point. Little King's Story I saw for very cheap the other day, but glancing at the back of the case and noting mostly RTS gameplay put me off somewhat. Am I judging wrongly? The rest I will investigate with Warioland and Okami very likely. Thank you! Akira_EX Strong list, thanks a lot. I'll look into them, especially the ones that appeal more strongly in genre. -------------------

Like I mentioned, Little King's Story is less RTS more like Pikmin.

quote Celes LeonhartNah. I've only played the Wii one and found it very enjoyable. It'll probably be even better after playing the prequel. ------------------- Twilight in a nutshell: The story of a young woman's choice to practice either bestiality or necrophilia.

I'd also vouch for Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn. I'd never played previous titles but that did not detract my enjoyment of the game.
Good game that actually requires a decent level of strategy and planning. Let us know how your purchase(s) pan out?

Okami and Little Kings Story. Hell yes.
OH and for future purchases: Silent Hill Shattered Memories, Monster Hunter 3, Fragile, and The Calling (or whatever it's called now). Also worth getting Fatal Frame IV from Ebay or something once this patch is done. -------------------
