What's with all the game threads in this forum? Aren't you just taking traffic away from the forums actually made to discuss that game? Seems not right.

My view is that these threads are supposed to be a supplement to that forum, in case that the original forum has little-to-no traffic in the first place.

These game threads are the be-all-end-all place for discussion for these games, but they're just a place they can be discussed in this forum.

I encourage members to start participating in the game's actual forum, but in case something doesn't get answered there, they can be answered here.

But surely making a thread here will obviously take traffic away? Why would people want to visit two forums to say the same thing twice? If you really wanted to encourage members to visit the forums, you wouldn't be making threads that encourage members not to visit the forum.

You can be honest and just say "I don't want to visit that forum I'd rather just talk about the game with my friends in here."

It'll take some traffic away, sure, but in the end, the more people get interested in a game, the more they want to talk about it, and hopefully they branch out into the forum itself.

It's better than having no one talk about the game. I'll guarantee you, if I remove the threads here, the activity in the other forums will not magically increase.
