Wii...entertainment...or DeathBox!!!???

I hate Nintendo but yes the wii is fun but is this a hazard now or what. All these 8 year olds throwing the wii mote through like concrete walls. I'm sick of the stuff on like yahoo about this.

re: Wii...entertainment...or DeathBox!!!???

Those people are morons. There is a wrist strap for a reason. The controller is not that slippery, really. My 5 year old brother plays Wii Sports for hours and has never even dropped it. I've played nearly 60 hours, and neither have I. If you really have sweaty hands, you can get a controller glove. However, for most people, it is unnecessary.

I don't know how all these injuries and accidents are occuring . However, it is a small percentage of the many who bought a Wii.

Mr Donko, i presume you've been on Wiihaveaproblem.com, or Yahoo.

That site, features some, mind the language, fawking idiots. They actually make the video's, and MEAN to smash they're TV's, Lights etc. They post bullshit news "h0mg, ma Wii hit me" but really they're fathers did..

The Wrist strap itself, as my good friend Gogetenks pointed out; there for a reason, to keep it in your hand, you don't LET GO of the Wii-mote, nor does it get "Slippy".

Yours in ze' hood,

Timothay.

My hands sweat a lot when gaming--from NES, to PS1, to PS2, to 360, to the Wii....and I have never let go of my Wii-mote. People are just idiots.

Beautiful. LMAO

But yeah, don't ally know how it could happen if you keep the wriststrap on. Funny story though, I was playing Wii Bowling in my living room, and wasn't waring the wrist strap. My dad and I were both bowling against each other. I was gonna be stupid, so I fling the controller forward as fast as I can. It flies out of my hands and hits the ceiling. For a few seconds, he thought I put a hole in the ceiling. The battery cover flew off, and they scattered literally all arouund the room. I was freaked out, thinking I broke it. I get the batteries, put them back in...and BOOM! It still works, no scratches, anything. Those are some strong controllers.

It's actually a pretty durable controller. It nearly ruined a $400 blender ! It worked eventually, after ages of trying to get the blender to work. The thing is, they destroy TVs if you drop 'em :\...

There was this 1Up thing where they soaked it in water, threw it at walls, stood on it and jumped on it and it still worked . Here it is. I wonder how durable the console is. I doubt anyone would try to wreck a hard-earned Wii ...

re: Wii...entertainment...or DeathBox!!!???

You never let go of the controller. The only game that I believe asks you do to even drop it is WarioWare, and even then you need the strap. Why don't people understand that when you pitch in Wii Sports, you don't actually let go of the controller like a baseball?

re: Wii...entertainment...or DeathBox!!!???

Mind my language... but I was slightly pissed to accidently let my controller go ONCE and in the process the strap ripped, and smashed into my TV consol, so now there's a big crack in it and my Wii-mote is acting seriously funny. It like goes on and off when it chooses to.

it's not the console's fault that people are stupid and choose to throw their controllers through TVs. you don't have to swing your whole arm to hit a tennis ball. just flick your wrist.

People have ripped the wrap, I kid you not. There's been one impaled in the side of a TV like a 2X4 in a steel beam after a tornado.
