My guess would be that many people, like you, recieved a Wii today and are trying access the shop channel, causing the slow downs. That, and owners prior to today may have recieved Wii Points, it being Christmas and all. I had the same problem on launch day when I tried to access it. Took me an hour to get into it, but I finally got to download Sim City. ------------------- And in the choir I saw our sad Messiah He was bored and tired of my laments Said, "I died for you one time, but never again"

It may just be the heavy load today due to Christmas, like random_gamer said. It does take around 20 seconds to initially load the channel on regular days, but after that load times are 1-2 seconds between pages and no errors. It should be faster because of WiiConnect24, but it isn't. However, on regular days, it still doesn't take that long and I never got errors. It may just be your internet or today's heavy load. I just went to the shop channel about an 1/2 an hour ago. I got a couple error messages at first, but then it connected, after about 20 minutes of waiting. Annoying, yes, but I'll be damned if Super Mario Bros. ain't worth it. ------------------- And in the choir I saw our sad Messiah He was bored and tired of my laments Said, "I died for you one time, but never again"

Yeah it wasn't working for me earlier either. Just got it today, guess its my brother's but w/e, I still set it up and was the first one on it. -------------------  Jesus saves......and only takes half damage. | |
