i got a wii 2 days ago and on the first day it wasnt turned off from 7am to 10pm bcoz wen som1 finished playing another person played it. on the 2nd day of having it, after skool i went and played it and about an hour l8er the power turned off like the whole thing did the red lite wasnt even on anymore. there was no power break or power dipping it just turned off. it still works but you cant play it for more then an hour or it will turn off. is it overheating? is this a regular problem??
does anyone know what to do?

Well, you've obviously *bleep*ed it over by keeping it on for that long. It's not made to be kept on for that amount of time without a break. You'll probably have to get a new one.

The future of your wii looks bleak to me. Take care of your electronics in the future shared electronics are more likely to break than personal ones. One of the people in your house that have played it probably screwed it up. I know cause my sister *bleep*ed up my DS causing me to spend 130 bucks on a ds lite.

Dont think your wiis gonna last very long if it doesnt work for more than more hour. If you have a warranty use it, or just get it repaired.

I assume someone did not turn the parental controls on. I seem to remember talk of a parental control that would limit the amount of playtime. I'm not really sure, but checking this setting is certainly better than having to repair or buy a new Wii.

Game consoles are SUPPOSED TO BE built with the intention that they can play and stay on for TONS of hours and days at a time. If one overheats because of gameplay, it was built FLAWED. There have also been reports of it overheating and damaging the GPU while in Wiiconnect24... That's just plan SAD, that it overheats so often and easily. It's not his fault...

For the safety of not hurting your machine and your wallet, please turn the Wii off when your not using it.

Yeah. Unless you're trying to unlock Mewtwo on SSBM, there's no reason to keep a console on for that long. I'm not sure why anyone would anyway. It can't be because of laziness, because there's a power button on the Wii remote. >.<

Anyway, my suggestion would be to unplug it and let it sit for awhile. Maybe an hour or so, or longer if you want. After that, plug it back in and try again. If you register your Wii, since it's not too late, you'll get a warranty on it. That warranty will come in handy if you can't get your Wii working.
