I know! I've only started playing it and am completely stuck at the same point as you. I've got the UV light, but she keeps saying she's missing something. I've searched everywhere and can't do anything except play with doors that won't open!

Highlight every character with the UV light, then you will be able to switch over and replace the symbols with letters.
