It would seem that in this game, Sonic and shadow are having to work together in this.

Sonic and Shadow have teamed up several times, such as at the end of Sonic Adventure 2 and to battle Black Doom in Shadow the Hedgehog.

Yes, a realise that, but this time it's just them two....it doesn't appear to have any of the other characters in it as far as the game information goes.

Well the game was just announced so the other Sonic Characters could still be in this game.
But it would be funny if they had to be together the whole game. | |

I'm not 100% sure, but I know I read somewhere that Silver the hedgehog is going to be in this one too. So it shouldn't be just Shadow and Sonic. Then again, it's a competitive racing game, who ever said any two characters had to work together?

I've not heard anything about Silver being in it....even though originality is running low....you're right...it seems to be an odd racing game agsint his own rivals...so my mistake. ^^ They are against each other....like Shadow and Knuckles.

silver is in the game. it's a free race game, so i dont think sonic and shadow are pairing up, but i could be wrong. it look like sonic and shadow are racing, but they have teamed up before.

ok this is how the game is i own it you can play as silver, knuckles, shadow or sonic they are rivels if you have read the back of the case i says somthing like destroy sonic knuckles and shadow with a new charatar named silver with his physic powers

There are 4 characters - sonic, knuckles, shadow and silver.
The games has 6 stages, each with 2 or 3 acts in it. In these acts the characters r racing each other but on the final stage they work together to defeat Eggman nega. | |

actually no there are 5 characters u can unlock metal sonic.and really in at least every sonic game,the good and evil are always teaming up
