Kinda like Resident Evil to REmake, yeah id love it. But id hate it if they made it the new shooting system and stuff same as MGS4. Itd be horrible. Itd be like a RE remake with RE5 over the shoulder and melee and stuff

prolly 1 or 4 on an even keel. i could say 3 was great but i was a kid when 2 came out and really wanted a continuation which was 4. i thought 3 was going to be 4 but when i started playing it and finally beat it i was like wtf? still i like all of them almost equally

MGS1 is my favorite just because it started it all(barely played the NES ones because they were so old when I tried them I couldn't bare to play them). I thought the story was amazing, the gameplay and graphics were extraordinary for the time, and I thought it had the most memorable boss fights. I never thought the bosses were bad in MGS2 but they were not as good, and I still have not played MGS3 yet.. which I've been telling myself for a long time that I'm going to buy it. I haven't beaten MGS4 yet but am at Shadow Moses so I'm not too far from the end(don't yell at me I got my PS3 in December and was extremely busy this semester with college stuff so I didn't have the time to focus on it at all ). I love MGS4 but it's just not as much of a changer as MGS1 was(and by that I mean extraordinary for the time), that I the bosses are just gay so far lol. The flashbacks really take me back. So out of the three I've played and what I've played of 4 so far, I would say that 1 is my favorite followed by 4 with 2 falling in last. The best part of MGS4 is that it's not one of those 5-10 hour singleplayers like most games are nowadays which is just annoying.

MGS3 - In this game you actually had to sneak, and were obligated to do so. On 4, even on some of the hardest difficulties it is easier to go in Gung Ho and just rip everything up with your awesome gun mods.
Also, you didn't get the uber awesome octosuit or w/e which made blending in more of a challenge. I liked finding the new camos too.

Metal Gear Solid 3 had a lot less of an emphasis on sneaking than both 1 and 2.

MGS3 is the best. Easily the best. MGS2 would have been good if you played as Snake more ffs. -_-
MGS1 WAS good, but it's extremely dated now. And I still prefer 3. Haven't played MGS4.

Gonna go with 3, the Stealth was much more streamlined and fun, what with the addition of Stalking making walking behind someone SOOO much more entertaining. THat and the new expanded CQC was a god send for someone wanting to *bleep* with guards.

Possibly MGS2, I played that hundreds of times. But MGS4 was such an overall great game, I enjoyed every minute.

In terms of story, I would go MGS2, MGS3, and then MGS4. In terms of gameplay, MGS4, MGS2, and MGS3. But strangely enough, when I think of which game would be my favorite overall, it would probably be MGS3. I still have to play MGS1.
