I went to the official site, but didn't see what you're describing. Don't worry, though, the fanbase is big enough and the game is good enough to warrant a sequel. Be patient, and I'm sure we'll see five. Capcom isn't stupid. They won't pass on a good opportunity to make money.

I disagree. The only one that was awful was 2. I massively enjoyed playing as Nero, and Dante got some pretty rad weapons.
How was the story any worse than any of the others? I can sum up the story of the first one in a single sentence: Follow a mysterious woman to an island to seal away a demon threatening the future of mankind.
I think you're being a bit demanding. Nero was, in fact, very fun to play. He had unique abilities in his arm, and his sword.

You can be disappointed all you want, but that doesn't make the game a failure.
How can you dislike a game that is modeled after one of your favorites?
Dante got different weapons and an improved style system compared to 3. Using the logic you're presenting, one could argue that God of War II was dumb because it was almost identical to the first one. Well, anyone that's played both GoWs knows that they're both sick as hell and the second is just a little bit better than the first.
My point is this: The fact that Dante's play style almost didn't change at all means that Capcom IS listening to the fans. People like things that they are familiar with, and Capcom delivered. They also threw in Nero to add some variety, and make this one unique. I applaud Capcom and their hard work! :)
If you could direct me to the article where the promises that weren't kept were made, I would appreciate it.
If they did, in fact fail to deliver on a promise, that does suck. However, the game is a very good one.

Dude, I think that the only way this game could be any better is that Yamoto was an actaul sword that dante could use, like rebillion, and if they had split Nero and Dante in two like they did with Dante and Lucia in DMC2.

AS for your theory, I played all four game and I personaly think that DMC1 is the lamest of the set, so you can't base wether the game was a failure of your own personal view. I'm sick of people bashing good games people like just cause they think it sucks. Sirusly, just keep stuff like that to your self...
