DMC4 is good, but not better than 3. Three had more weapons and the story was better as well.

That's it in a nutshell. The enviornments in DMC4 are some of the best of the series, though. If only trickkster could still run up walls *sigh*
Oh and that's one of the shittiest thigns about DMC4. It's missing moves for Dante. It tries to make up by stealing Vergil moves but it fails. ![]() ------------------- ![]() Mouth, Loaded, with-a GUN!

I would say it's like that:
DMC1 > DMC3 > DMC4 > DMC2 | |

DMC4 is alright, better than DMC2, but I feel Capcom is really killing the series though.
Adding Nero in and having 10 levels with Dante as a throw in for DMC fans was what really killed it for me. While Nero is a cool for combo's I prefer Dante. ------------------- Welcome to Crisis Core forum Welcome to Bad Company 2 God of War 3 official forum community

DMC4 is outstanding. It's the second best in the series. It's has some ups and downs compared to DMC3, but IMO, they're very minor. I'm sure you'll enjoy this game.

I personally loved DMC4 better, but then there's things about DMC3 I liked better than 4. The combat system is evolved although less variety; but every combo and technique purchased with Proud Souls does come in handly, while DMC3's imo, didn't always find use.
DMC3's story was no better than DMC4's, just atmopshere and DMC4 basically lead no where in learning nothing about Nero other than raising more questions, while I generally just enjoyed going along with it anyway. The floaty and lighter; while dark tone I enjoyed more too for DMC4. DMC3 was depressing although more evil along the DMC2 feel.I loved Nero's character, more-so in some ways than Dante; while people hate his introduction, it'll mostly lead to a better continuing storyline, than forcefully trying to find something else to prolong Dante's series with another plotline i.e: Phonecall > Investigate > Killing demons to investigate further > Evil mastermind > Puzzle > Final defeat > It's a chance (although Crapcom will probably let it slip) to make DMC have a deeper story than it already has, which would be more appealing, knowing there's unknown possible blood-related relatives and etc. This message was edited by CapcomDevil on Feb 20 2009.

Neo McKnight, here is my longer answer to you. Personally I'd say no. DMC 4 is not better than DMC 3. There were just a lot of things lacking in that game that made DMC 3 a much more worthy title in the series. The gameplay in DMC 3 I felt had a lot more variety in terms of move lists, weapons and an over all sense of accomplishment as well as the difficulty level. There were a lot of combos in DMC 3 that if you know how to execute them and know what to do with them, they all pretty much come in handy. I guess it's how you play the game. Personally preference does into play in this. I'd rather have a list of weapons as well as different styles rather than just one sword, one gun and a devil arm as your primary attack. There are cool combos in DMC 4 as well and some cool weapons. Just not a lot of them. And that's what I felt lacked in DMC 4. Variety.
The story I guess isn't that big of a deal. Even though it's about as typical as the whole save the princess and save the day Sl you find in almost every fairy tale video game. If you want that, then there are better games that do that for you. I mean I see it about as deep as a splash puddle. They should just be progressing Dante's Story line further rather than add a new character with another equally drab SL. If you're gonna do that, might as well do it with the same character. But then again there really isn't a lot you can do with DMC story lines. In terms of what it offers, it's as deep as it is going to get. I don't think we need another save the princess story line. So if you are looking for an indepth story line, you won't find it in this series. The vast environment is a lot better, it looks beautiful, and the sound is pretty good. On the fly style switching with Dante is pretty cool and as much as I dislike Nero and as much as I feel that he's really nothing more than a Dante wannabe who's just love struck by a rather mediocre female lead, his game play did add a certain charm to the series. And for the game play side, it did add something new to it that was fun for a while. It succeeded on that level. Overall if you liked DMC 3, you'll probably find some enjoyment out of DMC 4. And it's definitely worth checking out and playing through once. Just don't expect a lot of weapons and expect to play the same stages over with Dante and Nero. As well as fighting the bosses three times. Like I said though, It's worth checking it out at least. After all, Dante's saga as long as DMC is around is always on going. And it is his Saga.
