Ok, here it is. I just want to say a few things.

The DMC3 forum has been around since May 2004, but for a long time the forum was really dead and there was not much activity due to the lack of information about the game, something I sense will happen with this forum. The only active thread was the general discussion. The only members who posted in the forum for much of the time were myself, Daisy, Lady_Sparda, Fyrestorm and Darkhawk42. The 5 of us, I'd like to think, because a really close bunch of members through it all and no doubt all 5 of us will be here through this forums existence.

So feel free to talk about what you like here, but just know that by the rules of the site nowadays, if you talk about a lot of stuff unrelated to the game or Capcom, I'll have to delete the thread at the end of 30 pages and delete it with post count adjustment. I'll leave the decision up to you if you want this to be an on topic or off topic general discussion.

I wanted to inaugurate the new version 1.0 of a new General Discussion thread in a new forum with a nice picture, but, huh... seems lately the only thing Devil May Cry-related I did was this Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne fanart where Dante appears. So. Yeah.

Honestly, I don't think there will be. Dante seems to be very much against killing humans, and the game itself has a trend of no humans getting killed. I know it sounds absurd (Arkham! Arius!), but hear me out 'til the end.

The DMC series, so far, seems to have a trend of only killing humans who *become* devils, and redeeming devils who become humans. Let's think back on which humans Dante killed:

DMC1 - There were no humans in the game.

DMC2 - Arius. However, Arius was a corrupted human, a sorceror who wanted to aquire the power of a powerful (sic) devil, Argosax. When Dante kills him, he has already performed a (botched) ceremony to become as a devil, and he pretty much is one - if you do the Lucia path, you see the ceremony succeeded at least in part.

DMC3 - Arkham. Who's Arkham? A human bent on becoming a devil. Already in the beginning, unknown to everyone, he is already one in part, thanks to his little failure of a ceremony with Lady's mother. Vergil tries to kill him, but fails to check that the little asshole is actually dead before walking away - and hey, a real human wouldn't have gotten back up after what Vergil did. When Dante and Vergil finally do kill him, he is a (ugly, bloated) devil already. He's no longer a human, just like Arius.

Lady is the one human in the bunch who stays that way 'til the end. Like all the other boss, you give her the spanking of her life. Unlike all the other bosses, you don't actually kill her. Why? Because she's just human. Unlike her father, she's not some evil maniac who's abandonned her humanity for power.

Capcom does the exact opposite with devils who become human by crying:

DMC1 - Trish. Even after spying on and backstabbing Dante for what... 20 missions? Trish gets redeemed by finally saving Dante's ass and crying in his arms.

DMC2 - Lucia is told by Dante tears prove she's human, despite being pretty much an engineered full bloded devil with a human appearance, kinda like Sparda.

DMC3 - Hey, this time it's not a girl! This game has the genesis of the "your tears are your humanity" line of thought, only this time, it's Dante who's shedding the tears. He, too, is a devil who is human.

So, honestly, unless Capcom is going to go back on a beaten path of another human going evil, I don't think Dante will have to fight many more humans... Hell, what am I saying? It's Capcom. Beaten path ahoy!

Plus, if you look in the fight with Lady, just look at how much damage you can deal to Lady, purely because she's just a human. Even on DMD mode you deal considerable amounts of damage. Dante is a half devil, automatically stronger than any full humans, so it's unlikely we'll have to kill any of them.

Haha, anyway yeah I agree, human enemies should be kept to a minimum, the only reason Lady even managed to take any real damage and survive was that she blocks everything with Kalina Ann, so she only gets hit with the force of the attacks. I wouldn't mind a partially human opponent (not including Vergil), but I'd hope for a new angle, father slash creator of female lead out for the power of demons and devils could use a rest on the bench, IMHO. Maybe Capcom will do the unthinkable, and make the main enemy, gasp, female !

I don't think they'll ever let Dante get married. It would not only ruin Dante's image according to capcom, but would also infuriate a mass of fangirls.

And knowing capcom, 't'll be unlikely for them to let them have a woman play the role of the evil person.
But it would be nice to see a woman as uber-evil person, bossing every evil minion around, making lousy strategies to vanquish Dante, getting servants to run around at every wish...

Can I be the evil person? I'd let the evil minions get me orangejuice, re-decorate every house in a radius of ten miles, do a stupid little dance to worship me, just because I can, and loads of useless stuff.
But I think I wouldn't be bad enough.

Lady_Sparda has a point. When Trish initially betrays Dante she sends you straight into the fight against Nightmare 3. What a bitch, Nightmare 3 is really hard on DMD and she tries to fight you aswell. So, after being completley pissed at her Dante saves her. Reason: She looks like his mom. Him forgiving her was almost as lame as "I should have been the one to fill your dark soul with LIGGGHHHTTT!!!!!".

Very possible, DMC 1 ends off with Trish and Dante given a job to take out some "suckers," this may be humans or demons. But I would rather fight demons.

Entirely too many Problems arise when fangirls (or fanboys) forget the object of their desire is not, never have been, and never will be, real.

GTA is on my list of hatred.

Seriously though, GTA is a pointless, useless game...much like GOW.
