http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Devil_May_Cry_4 according to the extract from this webpage, devil may cry 4's main role character will be nero?? emmm it's dante's game "devil may cry", personally i feel that Capcom are fiddling about with DMC4 too much. Another fact that's got me worried is that the producers of DMC2 will be working on this game, which may turn out to be disastrous as DMC2 sucked but on the other hand the producers of resident evil 4 will be working on the game aswell so hopefully they will be doing the majority of the work. Finally i think that Dante, Vergil & Nero should all have major roles in this game especially Vergil, i feel that Vergil should regain his half demon, half human form like Dante in this game and confront one another, as Nelo Angelo was succumbed and brainwashed into evil by Mundus but Mundus was defeated and so was Nelo Angelo so i think that Vergil should make a grand entrance in this game similar to DMC3 but a lot more rugged and mature looking..

I also think that shifting the main character to an unlockable or from good to bad is crap. And just makes no sense coz Dante is a warm hearted egotistic character and has his mothers values entrenched in him.

the creator of the devil may cry franchise himself has said dante will be replaced by a younger generation and that's nero, i think the creator of dmc4 are trying to make the storymode about the evil/demon side of dante coming through and i think maybe they've made dante do something pretty evil and nero is supposedly to be potrayed as the new 'good guy', personally i hope this isn't the case because devil may cry is dante's game! soooo giving somebody (nero) we've never heard of the main role is ridiculous, i hate to say but i pray that capcom aren't *bleep*ing up the legend that is dante...

Nero looks funner to play with than Dante anyways.

Although Dante won't be playing the main role, I can say without a doubt that Dante will be a playable character in the game.

According to Ign.com Dante fights the huge fire boss, so what the hell does that mean? I know that u actually play as Dante. On a different note: according to them Dante and Neros mechanics are totally differnt, and that adds more depth to the gameplay...but in the picture it looks like Nero(coz of the hand).So I guess you play as Dante and Nero. But Nero is the main guy ofcourse

I was saddned when I heard Nero was the main character. It's always been Dante.But, I will still buy this game.

I wouldn't mind Dante being portrayed as a bad guy. I don't mean flat-out evil. I mean, from Nero's point-of-view, he might consider Dante to be a baddie.

Well, he might, but it'll probably be only because of whatever's posessing his arm, so it'll at least make some sense if he ends up being a match for them.

Nah, he's not. It was stated in an interview that he only looks like them in order to bring a sense of familiarity while at the same time introducing an overall new character.

Bah, i sure hope its a tad like dmc2 (NONO not cruddy overall thing) but in the form of 2 disks, one 1 you get one set of missions as dante and the other nero - if dante is to have a much lesser role in this game i may not be persuaded to buy it...
