what happened to sparda. I mean every dmc talks about him and I've beaten all three games but none of them says what happened to him did he die or get lost or something.

Pay closer attention to DMC1's intro. It says he continued to watch over the human world until his death. Just how he died is unknown though.

That's utter bullshit. Here's what it says about him in DMC1

[after sealing Mundus and defeating Hell] he reigned quietly on the human world, until his death.

Whoever told you that was pulling your leg or writing fanfic. Besides, Sparda had sealed Mundus, so it'd be impossible for Mundus to have killed Sparda.

when he sealed up the demon world his own demonic powers were sealed up in it and he died later as a human.... I'm guessing he died of some natural cause after losing all of that power and living as a man.
