I actually beat it a couple of days ago... it took me a total of 5 hours to try to get all the required items and upgrades >_>
It wasn't even worth all that effort ._. But I'm glad I finally finished all of scenario campaign so I can now focus on online. Anyways, Nightmare Train is actually 100% possible. You just need the right items. -------------------  | |

Sounds pretty daunting, i've still got about 10 more characters to unlock before riding the Nightmare Train. I doubt i will be able to cope with it, although my Hwoarang is upgrading nicely at the moment.

Im at the Nightmare Train now and it is pretty hard, i've had about six goes and no luck yet. Although i can survive to get up to level 3 on the red defeated enemies, which i hear is close to the end?
For upgrades, i would have: -Attack power (at least over 60%) -Extra Health (you probably want this maximum for at least one character, yourself mainly) -I cant remember exactly but one that freezes your opponent for a short time, a nullification upgrade) -A Rage one may help because you can get cornered here really fast Im not sure if the elemental ones are good for this, maybe someone else can help? | |

Anyways, here's what you should use: -Health (increased health meter by at least 320 or higher) -Attack (70% or higher) -Rage (Increased attack by at least 70% or higher during rage) -Defense (Reduced enemy attack by at least 5) - And you definitely need a fire elemental attack of 79 or higher. Fire seems to be highly effective against those stupid gargoyles. And it helped me kill them faster. And you should try to upgrade Alisa the same way too. Always stick close to her because it's easier to kill the gargoyles that way. And as soon as you reach Devil Jin, run for the machine gun and try to knock him off the train as soon as possible, because eventually you'll drown in gargoyles. ------------------- | |

If you don't have items as powerful as Gothic_Seductress mentioned, you might want to equip an item that increases the item drop rate. This definitely helps you get more powerful items faster since the Nightmare Train is pretty much the best place for farming.

And I kept repeating the level until I was satisfied with what I got. I think Nightmare Train and Mokujin's stage are the best for farming. Tell us how it goes guys. :3 ------------------- | |

Still farming items before trying this again. I find Raven's map pretty easy, usually walking out with 6+ treasures. It's the one where you basically flame thrower your way through. Found several 'A' items, but have yet to see an 'S' item drop.

I finally beat the Nightmare Train. Got loads of S and A Rank items by playing on hard and then beat those gargoyles down with my 99% attack power and nearly full health. The actual battle with Devil Jin was over in a flash as i think Alisa knocked him off the train straight away!

I also beat the level, but cannot now unlock the last 2 levels, any tips? Do i have to beat it on hard?

Beat last night with Ganryu somehow. Used the chaingun when Devil Jin popped and knocked him off right away.
