Ok, so could someone give more info on this (these) game? All I remember is that in one of the Metroid rooms on Pirate Homeworld, one of the pictures on the wall (when scanned) revealed project Metroid Dread to be in development. Can anyone give more info/discuss/give ideas here?

Metroid; Other M is follows between Super Metroid and Metroid Fusion. A simple youtube search will show you the trailer, which currently has all the information known about the game.

As far as Dread goes, it's possible that it's something Nintendo will carry on, but not guaranteed.

Dread is supposed to be a old-school 2D Metroid developed for the DS. It popped up on a Nintendo release list a few years ago, and has since completely disappeared, save for that little snippet you mentioned.

Apparently, Metroid Dread is still possible eventually.


Other M apparently has several third-person parts of the game where Samus combines melee attacks with her other abilities.

Metroid Dread is a rumoured 2D outing on the DS...it will definitely be welcomed by us fans.

Metroid: Other M is a T/FPA game developed by representatives of Nintendo working with Team Ninja, the guys responsible for Ninja Gaiden, so several new aspects are expected (and eagerly awaited by me!) such as melee involved in the gun scenes (like jumping on and shooting them). Seems pretty cool to me.

Oh, so the games are two different ones? I thought they were both the same thing. So Dread will be for the Wii? I certainly hope they incorporate Zero Suit Samus in there with the melee attacks, along with co-op play.
